So to everyone who is worried about the art style. Besides the fact that there is obviously gonna be changes seeing as it has been a long time since this anime has been on air. I feel that there is no need to worry about Sebastian looking too soft. Particularly looking at the scene at the 35 second mark of the teaser, you can see that the reason his features look softer is due to the lighting of the scene, the shadows shape his face in such a way where his festures appear softer, especially the big one on the left side of his face. The only really significantly change that affects his design is his eyes being less saturated and not as red anymore. His eyes were never fully red from what I remember, but they were definitely more saturated and provided more of a contrast in the design that drew your eye to them. So I don't really know how to feel about this change. But I guess we will see in due time, the animation looks great either way.

I'm not digging the new art work but like you said so far that's based off just a few glimpses. If I'm honest in the current black butler series that we have I found the artwork to be on/off in that anyway. Some scenes it was good and others not, maybe the new series will be the same. I'll get used to it though, this always happens with anime because they all tend to have huge gaps between seasons and by the time they decide to do the next one's so much has changed since they last released one anyway.

I finished Black Butler a few months ago. And honestly, the anime was unique and awesome at the same time. Most of the characters were good and the best character for me is Undertaker and Sebastian. Also the first opening of Black Butler was one of the best openings I've ever heard. The story was good in the first and second season, but it became strong in the last season and the movie. And after I finished it, one question remained in my head: “When will this anime get a new season?” Apparently they have read my thoughts and answered my question as well.

@@lacytaylor1501 I kinda wish they would do both. It's annoying to tell people who want to get into Black Butler to go watch the anime but only til this episode and then skip these episodes and watch the curry arc then forget all that and go straight to Book of Circus.

I was in highschool when I last saw Black Butler. I made my best friend at the time watch it. Apparently she loved it so much that she decided to name her CHILD after Sebastian. I didn't know this until a couple years later after she told me. I was in shock 😭😂 Thank god I didn't show her Vampire Knight first lol

I bummed they changed the director and character designer/animation director. Book of Circus and Book of Atlantic were so well done under Noriyuki Abe and Chisato Kawaguchi's vision. They're both powerhouses in the industry. This will be Okada's first solo direction. But I'm still hoping for the best ♥

YAY! Same voice actors! :) I didn't expect to see a new season of Black Butler since Book of the Atlantic was 6 years ago. I really like Cloverworks, so I'm quite sure they'll do a good job with the 3D animation. Admitedly, the faces look a tad weird because we're used to the traditional 2D animation, but they don't look bad by any means and I'm sure I'll get used to it. Also, these shots of the strainer, the tea cup and the milk tea look amazing.

Honestly, I’m glad to see a come back I started reading when I was 12, and finished what I could in my local library at 14, I’m glad to see my favorite arc being made into an anime :) I can’t wait to watch it when it’s free

@@alexandraae1443I think Sebastian’s face isn’t long enough even without the eyelashes, tbh. It gets rid of the reptilian element he was initially supposed to have (and which suits him)
