Um, this recap is everything! I now can't wait to watch the show and read the book. And I need to buy a copy for my Jamaican mama who left the island in the 70's trained as a nurse in England and then worked as a nurse in Scotland where she met my father. I assumed the story was about a island character because Black cake is the name for rum fruitcake that is served every Christmas and for weddings across most of the Caribbean. Jamaicans especially take it real serious(you will be judged on the quality of that cake). Listen, every island person I know comes from a family with beacoup secrets and mess so all of this drama around this character tracks. I knew soon as you described her villain husband with a perm that it would be triggering to you because of Tedros. I enjoy your channel so much. You are so smart and entertaining!

I have so many questions Is the person playing Benny a bad actor or were those bad lines? Everything she did and said was just off to me. Out of place. Overacted. Gibbs is the lawyer and daddy. They couldn't say anything until Covey died. They may have been on to Gibbs offing ⚰️. Nah Covey was supposed to be dead so they had to keep that low-key. Covey's mother GORGEOUS! I can't wait to find out what happened to her. How could she leave that little girl with him? Dad was hot trash🦨 How was he paying the housekeeper? Is old Covey, the young Covey aged with makeup? Coventina was giving "you changed your name for Shang (Chi) to Shaun" I was hollering 😂😂 Bestie was ❤ with bestie? Didn't see that coming

I don’t know why she is going so hard hiding in the first place. No one cares what is going down on the Island of Jamaica; so once she left the island she is fine. No one cares about some murder in the 60’s in the Caribbean (I don’t know maybe its just me 🤷🏽‍♀). I think the nanny (her mom’s best friend” killed little man. Remember when Covey was given a slice of cake at the wedding she said she hated lilac and that Pearl the nanny knew that; so why would she give her cake with lilac on it. I think the top layer of the cake is only for the bride and groom to eat and then save for one year anniversary, so she knew only the groom would eat it. I don’t understand how they would mix up Covey with Eleanor. Eleanor had ID that clearly looks like her so how the hell could they mix them up. It’s not like Eleanor’s face was burned or so badly damaged they couldn’t tell it was her. I don’t think the lawyer is Gibbs, I think children’s father will be Gibbs. I knew her BFF was gay. The way she kept saying I can’t survive without Covey her ad over again was just a bit too much to be just BFF.
