Great video, very educational. The only time I ever had a problem with the game warden was when he stopped me 3 separate times on Pickwick. That last time he just said, " I believe I have seen you before."

Another good day on the river. Game warden stopped me at Headwaters on my birthday, but he only checked my fishing license and live well, didn't do the whole safety check. Like your stop, he was very nice and professional.

I think the officer that did the inspection might have been training. They were both friendly, though. I’ve never had an issue with FWC leos. As long as you have all the required things on the boat you don’t have anything to worry about. They do sneak up on you, though! Haha

Never blame the wardens for doing their job, Without them the fish population would be decimated ! There are poachers in a home town near here that brag about how many illegal fish they catch ! Makes me mad ! I Wish there were more wardens !

Couldn’t agree more. It’s a bit of a hassle getting these inspections a few times every year, but I was happy to see the new sticker program he mentioned. Gives them a chance to spend more time looking for the bad guys out in the woods and water, less time inspecting boats that have already been inspected in the same year.

Great day, i buy jigs without the collars on line and powder paint them myself. I put a small pc. of 2 mm shrink wrap close to the head and shrink it with a lighter. It also works for covering the hook eye for painting. Then a dab of super glue helps hold the bait on. As a rule i use Bobby Garland Shad baits, but after watching the success your having i will try the Strike Kings your using. I use a variety of colors including electric chicken, but monkey milk with a pink head or a black head works best where i fish. You seem to have less wind issues on that river, which sure helps.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve always heard about the superglue technique but never tried it myself. I’ll probably go back to my plain jig heads which hold up really well, and honestly the fish don’t seem to care. It’s mostly about what plastic you’re dancing around in their face. And those Garland jigs are great, too.

Every time I have ever been stopped by marine game wardens, they have been nothing but nice and professional. It's just not that tough to have all the required safety gear on your boats. Before I put in on any water in any state, I make sure my motor runs, my bilge pump works,my trolling motor works, and I have all my safety gear. Nice and big black crappie!

I met up with a friend of mine one morning along time ago at a state on lake. I had fished this lake a lot of times, never had a warden check me. I worked with the guy I was fishing with and he was a African American. We hadn’t been out on the water but around an hour are so and noticed a boat approaching us. It was 2 wardens checking out everything. My friend had brought a six pack with him in his cooler. I didn’t even know he had it. They made us open all the coolers , and that’s when they found his beer. They took the beer , and his drivers licenses, and told him too come by the office when ever we left too get his ticket , and licenses back. Needless too say the fishing trip was over . He had too pay over $100.00 for his six pack. That has been nearly 37 years ago now.

I always keep my fishing license and abide buy the fishing limits and regulations. You can't get mad at the warden for doing his job. It's not a race thing you won't have a problem following the law. Glad you are well prepared. It's just too many poachers out here. Great show guys.

Through there are bad apple game wardens out there but, there's also some good ones out there too. After a day of fishing me and my family were cleaning fish in the backyard and our neighbor thought we had too many fish from what he could see from his window 30 ft away and call the game warden on us, game warden came and they counted our fillets throwing each one of them on the picnic table and some of them landed on the ground. I called for a supervisor in the supervisor came and saw what's the other game warden did and they figured out we were in our limit your neighbor got in trouble for making false claims.

Don’t knock it until you’ve gone out and tried it. Crappie fishing is revered nationwide and is as fun as it is addicting. Filling the cooler is a bonus but I’ll be the first to say that it isn’t always easy!

Depends what body of water you're fishing. Most of Florida there isn't a size limit, but Lake Okeechobee for instance is a minimum of 10-inches to keep. Always a safe bet to check the regulations first on where you're planning on fishing.
