To chime in with others who already said this; look into getting a "budget" crystal setup sooner rather then later. You don't have to get all the new expensive shiny ones to notice a big difference in damage output. A general rule of thumb would be that every crystal slot nets you 5 monster AP. Artefacts with lightstone combo's will help too. The fancy ones cost an arm and a leg but you can still get something very useful for a couple hundred mil. Hope this helps!

It's not really locked behind a paywall, paying def helps, but what you do have to do is grind to earn money so u can upgrade your gear, and in the early / mid game you do have to grind a decent lot because you earn less, you can't just run around aimlessly unless you don't care about your gear.

You can do a daily quest at the pit of undying, the crows nest questline i believe, you earn undying seals there around 50 a day at first which exchange 3 for 3 cron stones Also at orcs there's a mechanic where after enough kills a "happy spirit" shows up that gives you a buff that lets you kill the orcs much faster for 10 mins but gives you a debuff that stops you claiming the buff for 20 minutes (10 mins after your buff wears off) they also take increased damage while the light is strong enough

This game has definitely pivoted way harder into p2w then it used to. It can still be enjoyable, but its definitely more predatory I hope they change their current path.

The old path was not just more predatory, but more painful. Everyone playing the game agrees the current system is the most enjoyable/satisfactory/stable system there has ever been. We went from blowing up hundreds of hours of progress to stable, predictable outcomes and reasonable pity mechanics if we get unlucky. And yes, it all relies on Cron Stones, which were always the item to protect your gear. But Cron Stones have always been it. It's just that in the past paying for Cron Stones felt counterproductive because of how expensive a single click was. Now everything is more affordable, so not only is it easier for grinding players to progress, but it's more appealing to paying whales. If that's an L, so be it, lol.

You can buy crones in black smith. I know that some outfits from market place will give you 1k crones for 2b silver which means you'll only be 1b behind with silver. At end game spots you're earning like 3-4b per hour, with good rng on spot you can increase it to 5-6b. It's not that bad and not that much p2w how people describe but i hope they'll change their politicy crones in black smith. They could change their policy to that of ESO. Pearl Shop there is only cosmetic items and they make their $$ from premium subscription, which costs there $10-15 and DLCs released for the game.

I feel that BDO only truly appeals to two types of players: those who play very casually and those who are heavily invested in the game. If you fall somewhere in between and are not focused on constantly upgrading your gear, your equipment will quickly become obsolete. This is a crucial issue BDO needs to address: how to retain a larger portion of its mid-tier player base

thats true but pearl abyss tailors more to the casual side, as per usual, with all the catchup mechanics and simplifications. even if you grind lets say 2 hours a week, when you play these 2 hours the most efficient way you will probably earn around 4-5bill a week off of these 2 hours grinding + free stuff from events or login rewards. 2hours a week is VERY VERY casual, with that you can still progress quite smoothly considering upgrade costs are so low right now for the karazad and sovereign weapons. i think bdo does a pretty good job at helping new/returning/casual players out, altough in my opinion they should listen more to the active playerbase

What people do is they either do the pit of undying to get tokens and exchange to crons, then grind silver for crons or snipe outfits from the market place because someone puts outfit there from time to time, but yeah, nowadays it's pretty much griefing yourself when you upgrade equipments without using crons. Sadly, the state of bdo now in is that everything uses cron stones, so you pretty much grind for cron stones to get more gear to get grind higher mobs to get more cron stones. They do however give away crons and outfits from events time to time so you can also stack them all up for later.

1. The port rat you have a screenshot of no longer exists, it is now land of the morning light. I remember taking the 45min-ish fairey boat just to dc halfway have the boat leave me and needing to swim the rest of the way. 2. The golden pig king has a mechanic where you die instantly if you leave his aura ring 3 or more times. 3. I think maybe being a veteran player might hinder your progression in some ways, which wouldn't apply to new players with 0 prior experience as they don't have knowledge of things to compare to or "things that was". 4. I am enjoying your videos, keep up the good work

Keep in mind that u can exchange the Dec Tuvala into Pen Black Star so 10 bil is nothing, we used to pay for the Pen Bs over 90 bil.

And that's when you're sweating and lucking out on RNG drops to hit 2bill/hour. Most ppl will still be making 1bill or less depending on their RNG, drop scrolls, agris, etc while lifeskillers like AFK fishing will only be hitting 1-2 bill if theyre afk fishing for 24 solid hours and luck out with RNG AND have high mastery and equipment.

@@Btechdom Dude, what do you mean 6h of your life gone? You are playing the game, it's like playing the piano or doing something you enjoy. Also don't assume that I am sweating or that I have good RNG since u don't even know where I grind, how I grind and how much AP do I have to clear fast. I am doing over 2bil/h on average, when I was "lucky" and I had good RNG I did even above 10bil/h at DSR and I can tell u how: - one kabua(4.5bil), one limbo(1bil guaranteed) two hungers(2bil), 5 essences, 4 embers, 1.4bil only from raw trash and the other goodies that u get. If you don't enjoy playing the game just don't play it, for me grinding is not a waste since I am doing what I like.

I wanna add that getting a good crystal set up, at least a decent mid game one is important, a looot of your AP comes from there and it will make a huge diff.

You can essentially grind for an hour, or pay £15 for an hour worth of cron stones, and will take thousands of hours of grinding to get endgame gear. Unless you have a really high paying job its still better to just play the game, kinda pointless to skip the gear grind, when thats the whole game. Gonna skip the gear grind then uninstall because you have nothing to do? Never bought costumes for crons before, way too expensive to be worth it. Weight/Storage etc are way more important.

Less so than all other MMOs I can think of other than maybe FF. P2W through costumes is way too expensive, whats even the point you are paying to skip the game. Get your gear and then have nothing to do. Its cheaper in time/money to grind than work a normal job and p2w

man i kid you not, but i am 333/327/425 doing like NOTHING for last few years. i would say i literally stood in town for good 4 years doing nothing just collecting free stuff. i must admit i got some absolutely insane luck few times, like one tapping IX sovereign weapon with free hammer (i can provide screenshots), but still, i did not spend a dime on P2W stuff (i mean like buying outfits in bulk and melting). they are giving like 50k crons per year now for free ...

But in order to pay2win you need to spend 30 000k+. Nobody does that, everybody else is grinding, thats pretty much the game. NEVER ever spend money for crons its too stupid. Just enjoy grinding

It is not p2w...... it really is not. First of all you can not win anything because most PvP (if there is even a scene left) is in capped PvP. For PvE there is no real endgame, it is just upgrades to better Grindspot that make more money.

Even when you pay the 50 000 and have fully dec and V fallen gods, what are you gonna do now? The more you play, the more you see how you NOT have to spend money on the game. Nobody cares about the pay2win in the game, because the money you need to spend to be slighty better is simply too much. And you DONT EVEN NEED GEAR TO ENOY THE GAME. The game is simply just too complex and too big. Its a very long grind and you should enjoy the years of content u get with this game. It costs only 20$ ffs,

Do season character, grind for rift fragments, get echo rifts (combined 5 rift fragments in to one) and get 1000 of them. Grind in a party at velia rift boss spawn and get a 5% chance for bonus wave. Kill all the treasure hunters spawning and hit the treasure chest at least once before it dies (it dies very fast, so dont miss the chance to strike it at least once) and then collect a total of 2200 crones stones over a span of 20 hours. Fastest way to earn "free" crones if you dont wanna buy outfits or any other method that gives you barely anything.

Have you thought about contacting Blue for a joint stream/video? F2p requires a bit more patience, pit of undying is a good source of cron stones. After sorting out your buffs/crystals you should be grinding at Honglim Base for PvE, or snipeer hunting for lifeskills could be recommended.

Would love that, but I dont have the time, I only get 1 hour to do content creation stuff, and it is only when my kid is sleeping, and at the moment she sleeps random hours throughout the day xD Would love to do some hunting, sniper hunting sounds cool!

Before, i don't think it was such a p2w game or to be more specific there was nothing that garanteed your gear to be upgraded, yes there was still the cron stones extration from outfit, but they didn't guarantee that your enhanchement was gonna be successuful, instead now with the pity system, ipotetically in the worst case scenario you can guarantee your enchanment at some point by paying more in the pearl shop. Tbh it's so sad, the only mmo in my opinion that has badass gameplay like vindictus has become just a shadow of his former self ahahah

@@arajnin Paying for endgame gear is highly inefficient, especially when u can grind for 1bil/ hour. What u need to learn is to preorder outfits from the central market, its 2 bil/ premium outfit box, which is ~1000 crons per box. But u can enjoy bdo in various aspects other than just eprma farming, just do what u find fun tbh

Grinding is pretty much the game, i can still enjoy it after 30 000hours on console. Never ever spend money for crons, just permament account stuff There is just too much to the game, the biggest sandbox game ever, do anything and you get silver. There is no need to waste money

Vendor crons from blacksmiths are more accessible than ever before with fishing and grinding earning billions. Im 740gs and never payed for a single cron with cash. Plus they added a monthly loyalty box that can give a premium outfit box. Literally f2p - the tent/vp's

I don't understand BDO players. At all. I have around 730 GS. There were already arguments before that BDO is 100% P2W because you can sell costumes and buy Blackstar weapons. Otherwise, you had to grind, buy crons, and hope that the magical 5% chance would eventually succeed. Personally, I’ve already made 4 Blackstars at 5, 3, 7, and 1 (carried) pity. But even before, there were people complaining that they’ve done 40, 60, or, as the record I’ve seen, 100 attempts and still sit on TET. They added systems for players, guaranteeing an upgrade chance in the worst-case scenario. And now what? Are we back to the same old circle where people buy skins, convert them into Crons, and upgrade their gear? I only spend money on skins or season passes when I want to try a new class, but the constant whining from players is starting to annoy me. For years, people begged for a guaranteed system, thanked BDO for implementing it... and now that system is bad because they’ve added new goals for players? Someone even has the audacity to complain about spending 10 billion on a guaranteed PEN Tuvala = PEN Blackstar, meaning they’re about 54 billion ahead compared to market prices, where these weapons used to cost 104 billion or 120 billion.

@draxlor1342 Yes but 10 bil right now is almost nothing. Also I played diffrent mmorpgs, starting from Aion where first everyone in Group get they gear part from rng box. That was changed into one rng part from Boss. After that you upgrade it to +10 and after that to +15. Next part was manastone system, where you had 5-6 slots to put Extra HP, accuracy or anything you want. Failed once - everything was wiped to 0. They changed system where on fail you keep the manastones, but reduced success ratio from 50/50 into like 20% on last slots? Everyone is still crying. After that they changed gear enchant system, when you fail na enchant attepmt - it is destroyed. Now they are back to unbreakable gear, 1 random part from Boss but good luck to get enchant stones or manastones. Or maybe you want to talk about Metin2? Where whole game is Get gear -> Go to spot -> Hold space for hour -> Upgrade gear/Pet/Finish system -> Go to better spot -> Hold space for hour -> Upgrade gear -> Repeat. Classic Metin2 had chance to destory your Item when upgrading, now most players Play on private server. Maybe you want to talk about Throne and Liberty? Where after like a month I had full gear on +10 and finished all trairts by just playing, but had to spend hours on main and alt to farm lucent (that I could buy with real money) to finish my gear faster? Farming gear and exotics in Destiny2? Now new players are not tuvala Timmy, but have easy Access to X2 pen blackstars and one tet. Games will change and games will evolve making everything easier for new players. Most people dont have time for ultimate hardcore grind fiesta. If you bring any favourite character upgrade system from any game to BDO there still will be lots of people crying how bad and p2w it is.

The Agris Essence System is another lazy way to milking players. ,,Oh i only need 2 more taps to get my silent fallen god armor i swipe the card cuz its guaranteed anyways. The Fairy System is another greedy milk System. And dont get me started with T9 and T10 Horses cuz its just careless and lazy. And then there are other huge problems. Announced Content that has been vanished and never talked again about it , Class Balance is all over the place and makes zero sense , and completly killed pvp. This Game always had the Potential to be one of the best MMOs ever but the Devs just dont care to make it that

Dude, none of what you want to do is locked behind a cash shop or even time gated. No, the things that you want to do are locked behind a KNOWLEDGE gate. You've been gone for so long that you don't even know the correct questions to ask, let alone trying to give your opinion about this game. LOL! I recommend you talk to your guildies and ask THEIR opinions about your setup, the best crystals (for you and your budget), and educate you about proper rotation of food and potion buffs. Then after 40 hours of grinding and experiencing this game at an ACTIVE level, come back to us with your opinions.
