BD Athlete Seb Bouin was looking for a new experience. “We usually go to places where the climbing is already developed,” he explained. So, Bouin, along with his mom and two dogs, got in the van and drove up the coast of France to reach Albania. There they found a plethora of undeveloped limestone ripe for the bolting, as well as an undone 9b king line bolted by none other than BD Athlete Adam Ondra. Check out this video of Seb Bouin living the Balkan Dream.

Yeah unbearable to have it interrupt all the time. Awesome vid all in all but where is the 90-minute uncut version? With uncuts of all ascents done there?

The subtitles are way off at times. "Dalle" means "slab". Unless Seb meant something else because that didn't look like slab to me.

Great video but can you please just keep the subtitles centered in the normal position? It was really hard to read and pay attention to the vid when they are jumping all over the frame sporadically.

Look up the Dunn-Westbay integral, it's a traditionally protected 80m pitch graded 5.14b on the Diamond of Longs Peak at 4000m in Colorado. It was redpointed with some preplaced gear by Tommy Caldwell and Josh Wharton. Long pitches are amazing.

Developing tourism by bolting 7a to 9 degree routes... That's a very selective tourism to my point of view.. why not focusing on 6th degree if attracting climbers is the main goal ??
@masterpropper2485
@masterpropper2485 4 жыл бұрын
easier routes will come soon when more climbers are coming. of course they bolt the obvious lines that are really worth bolting (and climbing) first, then the easier ones...
@simaodocaminhao
@simaodocaminhao 2 жыл бұрын
I've been there today, there are routes from 6a through 6c and up available there already. The tip - in the summer you need to climb there very early in the morning, because when the sun comes up, that's it, the place is as hot as a furnace, impossible even to belay as your brain is melting down for the heat and a risk of sunstroke is serious

Only when first establishing a route, they use a hammer to remove loose pieces that would likely break when you try to climb on it anyway
