As a black man i love Thailand! Never had any issues with the people. No one cares im black. No one attempts to mistreat me because im black. I absolutely love the thai people, the thai culture and especially thai food. Dont get involved in thai politics and be respectful to the people and their culture and youll have a wonderful experience. Just be open-minded about some of the differences you'll encounter and you'll do great!

US is draining. As a white dude I always feel the constant pressure to prove I’m not racist, transphobic or homophobic. Man, I just wanna live life, I’m so sick of playing all these games in the US. I feel like the media has pushed every “group” to feeling the constant need of proving other “groups” right or wrong. I’m headed to Southeast Asia for 6 months beginning in October. I’ll be splitting that time across Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam. Good on you bro for escaping the rat race and finding peace :)

Great video once again. Great advice from a young buck. My wife and I watch from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 🇲🇽. We have a friend here who also has a house in Thailand. He goes back and forth and we’ve been seeking to do the same. Like you I suffered injuries out here after I got into calisthenics and pickleball. I’m missing both and after having to take different meds, I’ve come to realize I enjoy being sober and in control more than being under any influence. Keep up the good work. I’ve been to Thailand twice, and I love it. It’s true I’ve never felt any type of racial discrimination other than being not Thai, but even then it’s mostly the same treatment across the board of all non Thai people that I see. One thing I will say if you want to get more out of your experience, is to learn some Thai. Whether it’s to ask for directions, order food or to buy things, or simple conversation. YOU WILL BE TREATED BETTER. And I don’t mean fake Thai like some fugazi expats, I mean actual useful Thai, they love it, I might make a video about it. They really appreciate when people learn their language and culture, even if it’s a little bit. If you have a trip in the next 2-3 months, take a class on Preply or italki, maybe 2x a week and you will have a much better experience than if you didn’t. My first trip I didn’t know any Thai and my second trip I learned for 4 months and the treatment was much different, people gave me free things, wanted to engage with me more. It was overall better.

@Adjustit - As far as weather, November to February are the best months. It's the cool season in Bangkok (80F-90F) and the rainy season is over. If you want to celebrate SONGKRAN, Thai New Year where there are water fights all over the country, you would have to go in April which is the hottest time in Thailand. The negative part of going from November to February, there are more tourists and the prices are higher.

I'd have to agree quality of life there is more relaxed. I've visited a few times for months at a time, and was hyped at how far my dollar would go. But that was a different time. Now there's digital Nomads, myself included who can go to these awesome places not to just visit, but stay indefinitely. Global gentrification is real, and for locals its no bueno. Anyway man, love the content just some food for thought keep up the good work.

@theisaiahashleyshow4251 I guess what I was saying is that if the costs were similar to the US, forget even NY. Would you love Thailand as much as if had to pay the same dollar amount?

Zay... Thailand is not considered a 3rd World country... It's is called a "Developing Country", although parts of the country are far more developed than many western, or 1st World countries.

I, too, am interested in hearing about the dating experience of African American women in Thailand. I bet African women do well, but any sort of modern Western woman?

You seem so happy, I bet you also met someone :) I'm an american black man late 30s thinking of visiting next year but I have some reservation about Phuket due to a lot of russians having taken over due to the war and allegedly being ignorant towards locals, the few black folks...since I would be in Thailand for only 3 weeks, I was thinking of spending time in Bangkok, Koh Samui mostly, Chiang Mai, since you've been in Phuket, is it a spot you'd prioritize when you have a limited amount of time? My goal on the trip is to of course sightsee, enjoy the culture but mostly relax and do nothing and meet some people

I just recently learned that 3rd world is a cold war term. 1st world nations were against the ussr, 2nd world nations supported the ussr, and 3rd world nations just stayed out of it. Most 3rd world nations had less money on average so after the cold war the term morphed to be about money

It’s a great video, but there’s a next side to everything you say two side to every story Bangkok it’s all about money so very small percent you may meet a friend and for the woman just the opportunity, being black. They know that they just respectful, but you absolutely are different. They’re 99% more into white, but they respectful so. I recommend find happiness within yourself then you’ll be all right. Bless.
