@@symbiotex1751 what about from a liability or discrimination stand point? You don't think Fed Ex might be culpable if their black employees get harmed going into areas Fed Ex knew would be dangerous? You don't think they might face a discrimination suit for assigning routes according to race? Fed Ex doesn't lose one dollar by making the people come pick up their own parcels at some depot. @@mr_knowitallgood point but losing customers ( senders)means billions of dollars are on the line. They'd rather just minimize risk of an employee getting harmed cause the risk & cost is lower. I live in Augusta, GA and I live in a predominantly black neighborhood. Everyone in my neighborhood has been pretty friendly. I've had older black men tell me, to stay out of a neighborhood close to the one I live in. With that said, I've been in very rural neighborhoods in Florida and the old white country folks were giving me the eye, like what are you doing here, these were white people, and I felt very uncomfortable. There are people that don't accept anyone that looks like an outsider in small towns. I'm not saying they are acting right, I'm just saying these outliers don't represent the majority and that there are people in all colors that act this way to people they deem don't "belong" in their neighborhood, especially in small towns, but even in big cities. Also, I love my neighborhood and I was slightly worried at how I would be treated, but I really like my neighbors and I'm starting to think a few even like me. ❤ I love talking to most anyone and some of these older, folks, especially, like having someone to chat with. I walk my dogs almost everyday and that is how I've met so many of my neighbors. What bothers me is how prevalent people cry racism, when these assholes that act this way don't have better behavior with their own race. One of my best friends growing up was a black boy, (middle school and highschool). We were living in a predominantly white neighborhood. He got picked on by black kids, not all because their were plenty of black kids that were nice to him and white kids, but there were blacks that made fun of him for having me as a friend. We were legit friends too, we liked each other alot. When his step sister moved from Chicago to live with them our friendship almost died because she was so mean to me and made so much fun of him. Called me all sorts of BS. Abbey was her name. Lord. I still love this guy, but we don't speak at all anymore. I'm happy to see he grew up, went in to the Navy, met a beautiful black woman, also in the Navy and has a wonderful life and three habdsome sons. Makes my heart happy. I'm saying all this because humans can be absolutely beautiful and absolutely ugly. We are human. I don't see Abbey as a racist even today. I never even thought to use the word racist. I just thought she was a mean girl.

I want to share this with you JR and all your subscribers, this is a long read but worth the time to read, and I'll try to make it short as possible....Im an African American retired US Army officer and Desert Storm veteran as well. Ive been in the automobile sales industry here in Atlanta since retiring from the Army in 2003. Back in 2014 I was working as a sales manager at a local Honda dealership, it was a summer Saturday morning and we had a big sales promotion that had been advertised all week, so we were very busy from the time we opened at 9 am. I had about 20 salesman that worked for me and around 11 am there were customers everywhere. All 20 salesman were with customers and we had multiple custoners roaming the lot without anyone to help them. Im not trying to lose any customers, so I took off my suit jacket and went out on the lot to help as many customers as I could so they would not leave...I got to this one older white couple and I just introduced myself by first name and not as the sales manager. Things were going ok for about 10 minutes when suddenly the older white gentalman pulled to the side and said..."Dont take this the wrong way, but we would rather have a white salesman". That caught me off guard and yes I was instantly pissed off, but I kept my cool and I kindly told them, "no problem, let me get someone that can help you". So i go back inside the building and just so happen there was a white salesman that was free, so I told him to come with me as I have a customer for him. He followed me out on the lot and I introduced him to the customers and asked him to take care of them. I went back inside the building and assumed my duties at the sales desk handling business and structuring up deals for the customers trying to by cars....an hour goes by and here comes the salesman to the desk telling me those customers have settled on a car and want to proceed. So I structured up a deal for them and sent the salesman back over to his desk with the customers to close the deal. Well as fate would have it after about 45 minutes of negotiating, they could not agree on the payments on the car with the salesman and the customers demanded for him to go get his manager since they could not come to an agreement...😊😊😊, Im sure you know where this is now going!!....By now Ive got my suit jacket back on at the sales desk with my name tag that clearly says "Sales Manager". Words cant describe the look on those people faces when I turned that corner to sit down with then to discuss this deal. I simply said "Hi, Im Don the sales manager, we met earlier out on the lot"....That alone was the most satisfaction Ive ever had my entire career as a sales manager. I then went back to my sales desk and structured a deal I knew they couldn't refuse, and brought it back for them to review. Of course they agreed and bought they car, but not without feeling like total idiots and racists as Im sure they were. The moral of this story I shared, is to prove you can overcome any obstacle you have in life and not have to display anger or ignorance. My heart goes out to the young ladies that had those experiences with those deliveries, but what i can say to you, go about your business and just do your job and not shed another tear over that situation, hold your head up high and be professional at all times and dont give the racists the satisfaction!!
