Black Folks Take Out!! | How to make the BEST Fried Fish Sandwich w/ Hennessy Tea!

Fish of choice ( farm raised catfish, swai, whitening, ocean perch or your choice)
-Vegetable oil for frying ( fill the skillet, pot, or deep fryer halfway with oil .. do not over fill or you risk the chance of a grease fire) heat over medium heat.. or if deep frying 350 degrees
-Seasoning of choice ( seasoining salt or cajun seasoning, and accent if you want it to taste good!)
store Fish fry mix of choice
Fries
light bread aka sandwich bread
Auntie's tea
2 cups lemon flavored powdered tea mix ( Lipton tea mix is what we like )
5-6 cups water ( or more depending on size of pitcher ) I simply add the mix, sugar and then fill the pitcher with water..but be sure to leave room for the sprite! (bottom line .. just make the tea mix just like you would make koolaid or any other powdered mix drink)
1/4 cup sugar or to taste
1 can sprite or more to taste
lemon juice to taste ( start with 1/2 cup)
hennessy or any brown liquor
* if you like it sweeter just add sugar to the mix*

I was raised as a Catholic and we couldn't eat meat on Fridays. As a child my favorite day was Friday, because that was fried fish/seafood day. Usually fried whiting, porgy/brim or shrimp, seasoned to the hilt, coated with finely ground yellow cornmeal. fried hard yet tender in lard served with fries, tartar sauce, Frank's hot sauce and Lordy yes..two slices of soft white bread....so good you want to slap yo' mama. But of course you dare not, so you smack you lips and ask for a second helping.

I didn't know people buy a cornmeal mix to fry fish. I thought you just get the cornmeal and add your seasonings. That is new to me. I'm not sure if my local stores even carry that.
