Yeah. Physical Media is basically Barnes and Noble and Walmart, and most of their deals are all online now. Having been collecting since the last century. The death of black Friday is fucking depressing. Physical media used to drive people into the stores, and the stores just gave up on it.

My Walmart had nothing. They usually always had a display with dvds and games but this year the games were just in the case. My target has stopped selling movies. I actually took a pic because there was only 10 dvds in a been. It’s sad.

Agreed. This was overall the WORST Black Friday for physical media including video games, and just about everything else. Average discount here in the US on anything worth buying is only about 20% off. As far as physical media is concerned $14.99 is now the new $9.99 for 4k, excluding Criterion which are crazy expensive with their 50% off Black Friday sale at an average of $24.99 for a 4k movie, you buy two and you're screwed out of $50.00 plus taxes. And you're right about the prices during the pandemic, because I remember buying ALL the Disney full length animated movies from Cinderella to whatever was the latest release at the time of the pandemic in 4k Steel Books from Best Buy at $9.99 and $12.99. If I recall correctly, I believe I purchased close to 20 and ALL were Steel Books. Physical Media used to be used as part of the retailers so-called "door buster" deals to get you into their stores. Retailers don't care anymore about physical media and Amazon didn't quite come through on this Black Friday with the discounts. Everything is much more expensive, even bottled water. The excitement is gone.

Im in toronto also, most of my pick ups this weekend have been all online. Even found good deals on the American amazon site and still cheaper to buy from there with the conversion and the shipping it was still a better deal. Man we have it rough over here.

Only deal I did was buy two get one free through Target. I work for Target so I got a discount on top of it but we got rid of all of our physical copies in store this past month. It's literally the only stuff I'm looking for for Black Friday and it doesn't even exist. Becoming more lame every year.

I'm in the US and from what I can see in your videos your Walmart physical media section looks amazing our Walmart here is awful were lucky if we have 1 isle I've been collecting since the vhs days and our Walmart has been terrible since 2018 or 2020 I basically just order everything now and yea our black Friday sux 2

Walmart was a huge disappointment. Saw some things I wanted on their ad online and went into the store to pick a few things, was told it was mostly online only. Everything was regular price. They don't stock anything that people want, so they assume nobody wants physical media. People buying this stuff don't want DVDs anymore, we want Blu-ray at minimum for new releases.

It was mostly online. I bought Tears of the Kingdom for 30 bucks online, the store had 69 dollar copies. I assume it was the same for movies.

I went to our local Walmart and didn't see a single fixture for black Friday, much less for physical media, it looked like any day in June. I was surprised, looks like it's all online now.

(Also living in Canada). I know we have fewer good discounts than the US and UK. stores now have less and less films (rarely they have a title that has just been released and when they only have the DVD verse for some reason). At least we had good deals on the internet throughout the year (not just on Amazon) but it's a bit sad when I compare it to other places..
