Doing the switching this reminded me of a 2010 tour of the shop. Nothing much appears to have changed. With so few class one car shops left in action and specifically in a smaller town it's a real Rarity. I remember the facility director mentioning how are the shop basically did nothing but Autoracks for TTX and some wreck repair. Indeed only a C&NW malt service covered hopper and a SSW insulated box car we're inside otherwise it was wall to wall ETTX. Supposedly TTX would tear down a car to the frame and then rebuild it every 12 years and a complete cleaning and painting. Even then they were behind with the number of former CNW cars there (15 yrs) Now I know how things get shuffled in DeSoto. Thanks

Thank GOD they’re able to Removed the Vehicles from Either End of the Auto Racks because when those Doors Malfunction, they’re Not Opening until after Repairs.

I’m in the Marion Subdivision & we GET coal drags & locals that go thru Marion to Paducah KY & we also have BNSF on Beardstown Subdivision Goes from Galesburg too metropolis Ill There’s more BNSF then UP that goes thru Marion too Paducah KY

Love the action and the video. Question for you what time does the LSE72 (I think thats the symbol) start and when does LSE57 show up in Desoto. I live close to here and love to see some nice switching action.

The 72 starts about 8 or 9am from what I have seen and the 57 shows up anywhere between 11 and 12:30 depending on what's going on. The 57 does not go to DeSoto on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Hope that helps. So glad you enjoyed the video.
