*YAY Orgōne!* My RSD situation is like your TV-need, but I hafta buy a car so I'm sittting this one out entirely. We put our huge TV in our bedroom, btw, which basically turned it into a tiny movie theater - it's always amazing but it's kinda' stunning whenever we stream arty stuff on the Criterion Channel. 🤯

I didn't end up getting any RSD releases. I hit three stores but all of which didn't bring in RSD titles and instead did big used drops and sales. Of the RSD titles, I was most interested in the Jesse Ed Davis. Curious what you think of it once you have had a chance to listen to it. Orgone wasn't on my radar but I am a fan. My introduction to them was seeing them play as Eddie Bo's backing band nearly 20 years ago. Still, an incredibly memorable show for me. Happy holidays!

Hey Mike, no Jazz Dispensary? This one's a good one and right in your wheelhouse, 70s funky soul jazz theme.with Chico Hamilton, Hampton Hawes etc... I would say it's one of their best. Otherwise some good titles you got there.😊

I didn't bother going out. I thought about the Paul Ngozi but I've already got a few of his records and they are selling it on their Bandcamp so I don't think it will be a problem to get down the road. Also, I was able to stream Viva Ngozi just now, I think today was the official release date of the reissue.

So I call my local record store owner yesterday who I’ve known for years and inquired as to when he will open and how much RSD stuff did he receive. He tells me that he got 11 albums, yep 11 😮. You see here in Canada we are going through our annual Canada 🍁 Postal Workers Strike so shipping companies are completely overwhelmed. I show up early with coffees and he lets me in, 9:30 and no line up. None of what came in were anything I’m looking for so kinda 💩. We chat and he says maybe mid next week stock may arrive and no one in town got anything more than him. I give him a coffee and pastrie, head to the jazz section and he gave me 20% off three lps. That’s my RSD. 😅

20 people over for Thanksgiving. Screw that. A new TV is a solid reason to cut down on some records. I’m a big War fan and I would say pass on the War boxset. Galaxy is okay but most of the others are not that good. Especially compared to the early albums. That Zamrock album looks good. My local record store has an original Jesse Ed Davis. It has been there for a while. I msy pick it up. The Garbage and Morphine should be good.

The Byrds recording is pretty rough. The members of the Byrds were annoyed with David Crosby and he left the band shortly after. In fact if I remember right David Crosby played with Buffalo Springfield. That may have been the last straw after his half assed performance with the Byrds.
