From how they speak they seem like they are of the opinion that you need to be ghetto in order to be black so if you’re not adding some slang words in there you are not acting black and the problem with ignoring low class black people is that most of the time they think we have to all act the same all black people are not the same black people are not a monolith. There seems to be a misconception that black women wear certain hairstyles to try to appear "white," but that’s far from the truth. The reality is that many black women face immense pressure from societal standards, some of which are perpetuated by black men themselves. Unfortunately, many black men often overlook or don't approach black women when they wear their natural hair, creating an environment where women feel they have to conform to certain looks to be seen or appreciated. It's crucial to recognize that the standards we're grappling with were not set by black women, but by broader societal influences, and at times, even by members of our own community. We need to support and uplift each other in embracing all the beauty that exists in our natural selves.
@thechosenone9320 күн бұрын
But I disagree with the “pressures perpetuated by blacc men themselves” point. I keep reading that BM WANT the natural looks and don’t like the weave but to this day I have never heard a BW say “you know what,let me try something new and wear my natural hair”,there is ALWAYS pushback
@HerMajestysClips20 күн бұрын
Have to disagree… If all of them decided to only wear their hair natural from today do you think Black Women would get no love from Black Men?? Do you think we’d just switch over to White/Asian cos they’re the only ones with straight hair? Hair texture is deffo not a priority for man when looking for a wifey 💯
@Isabel-d5b20 күн бұрын
These are just idealistic perspectives. I said some black men, not all. The issue with our community is that we often shy away from dealing with the uncomfortable truth. While it's true that there are definitely brothers out here who appreciate and celebrate our natural hair, we can't ignore the fact that there are also brothers who don’t value or appreciate our naturalness. Unfortunately, it’s often those brothers who have the largest followings and influence, which amplifies those narrow views. It’s crucial that we acknowledge this reality, even if it’s difficult, because avoiding the truth doesn’t help us move forward. We need to be honest about the diversity of perspectives within our community if we truly want to progress.
@mattyb193920 күн бұрын
All that may be an underlining issue it still resinants to the world you don't like your natural features. what about in Africa or the Caribbean the woman there shouldn't feel pressure as the populations are over 90% black
