It really is an addiction. I'm fortunate enough to be in the path of the occasional big ass walnut tree. I've got the better part of 6 or 7 trees over the past 3 yrs. Every piece is so unique and it never gets old. It keeps my feel good juices in my brain a flowin'

HI N 😊😊 I never get tired of red cedar I don't see much of it anymore and it smells great and has pretty wood grain years ago U only seen it in fence rows or fence poles most of the time ⌚😮 if U do find red cedar logs 4 saw logs consider yourself very lucky 🍀 😊 U can't go 2 lowes and get them or no lumber yard either 😮😮 and there's not much yellow pine left 👈 😮 around here no more either and the same 4 black walnut trees 😮😮 U see 1 in a yard 4 a yard tree that's about it I still remember the big yard trees at moms old home 🏡 😊 place when I was growing up 3 and 4 people U still couldn't get your arms around them 1 was a great swing tree 🎄 😊 yes I still remember that 2 just like it was yesterday anything U are looking 4 like that it's very seldom U find it 4 saw logs anymore alot of those old trees and timber was cut many years ago 1940s 1950s and be 4 then they weren't replanted and what few there is 2 day that's all U see now a very few here and there 😮😮 OMG 4 6 2O24

Good pickin' on the 12 bar blues. Beautiful eastern red cedar/virginia juniper. Fantastic figure in the walnut. Walnut is the best-looking wood.

We just cut up the prettiest black walnut for a customer and I didn’t record, we thought it was going to be a nasty tree because it was kinda rotting however it fooled us all. Great work, I need to change cutting fluids also

I love that species of red cedar. I didn't get to cut any up here in British Columbia because it doesn't grow here. our red cedar is a pretty bland wood except for the old growth.

Might be a good idea to invest in a good metal detector for metal detection on the log.. I've always like black walnut. I have several Trapdoor carbines and rifles and they all have black walnut for the stocks. Amazing wood.

must be some fine uses for those sides you take off the cedars maybe siding for a car port to provide some protection from weather or to build sides for garden beds to keep soil inside? cant imagine wasting them in the burn piles. didnt you need to cut those cedar for those beds? can certainly see those slabs in a custom house for bars or coffee tables

That cedar does have some pretty red coloring. Walnut is almost always pretty.

Usually I enjoy watching cedar (yes, cedar! 😉) being sawn because I love its color and grain. This time, I was impatient to see the walnut crotch and it did not disappoint! Beautiful!! I liked the end too, different from the usual and very peaceful. 👌💕😊

Do you change your mind on a log after you make the first cut? I thought you said the small logs you were going to cut into 4x4s. You then cut them in what looked like 2x6s. I'm old, so maybe I heard wrong. I do love your channel though.

I've never noticed that small circular saw(de-barker?) that goes in front. Interesting. The shape and color of the crotch on that second plank makes it almost look 3 dimensional. Very nice.
