The book did a better job than the movie. The movie only focused on army. When in fact on that day there were Navy seals in the convoy and air Force PJs doing rescue missions. The Malay army, the Marines and that Somali who rescued Mike Durant and got shot in the gut.

Yes the Pakistan help them.. But they only provides 2 tanks as the forward of the convoy.. Then they retreat due to not having a NVG(Night Vision Goggles).. They doesn't entered the war scene at all... Just about 70% of the path convoy... Malaysian army alone with the support of US helicopters as air support when needed go through the war scene and saved them

Pakistan army entered into the mud when US quick reaction force ambushed. Pak Army knows how to evacuate and they successfully did, whether they used tank etcs.

I thought in a separate interview that I heard the Pakistani tanks first sent to aid the trapped Americans bailed and refused to enter the fight. The Malaysian military did go forward and were an important part of the rescue effort and were instrumental in preventing the loss of the entire American force. There were a lot of heroes that day.

Well at least two of the panelists were actually there during their active duty tour, but why does brucheimer constantly chyme in.and when I served in the army I studies the case of the two snipers who went to crash site number two knowing they were gonna be outfgunned and outmatched by the sheer numbers. They were told no twice and they still asked to be dropped in to provide tactical support to the crew of the crashed bird. Like the way the mission was portrayed in BHD this interview was very "real". Not glammed up for Hollywood sake. To hear that a solder could be afraid. Which does happen. Natural. Even if it's not viewed favourably by those other soldiers that count on the other for support. Even retired 1st Sgt fearing the "calm". Just hoping it wouldn't hurt as he laid on his back "like a turtle". I can only imagine what it was like and know I could never do. I think there are too many that get hypnotized at the glammed up version of any "assult/resuco mission" Or the glammed version of a police crime. Or be so impressed with an action film certain people aren't able to separate reality from total fiction for entertainment sake. A Somalian asset lied and gave us a target he knew was filled with women and children, His Intel was solid in the past but he played us, We hit the target with helicopter gunships..and that's what changed the mindset of Somalia's on the ground...Les Aspin the Secretary of Defence took all the blame by not giving them the armored vehicles and Spector 130 gunships they needed and haunted him for life..I watched this from Lackland AFB and the mood on the Training base changed for a period of time..we all swore if we ever went back we would get in any way we could...

Thanks to Royal Malaysia Regiment ( Mechanised ) as QRF in Somalia then, who put their troopers life on the line to saves the very life of stranded American Rangers and Special Force and bring most of them out safely.Rest in peace Lance Corporal Aznan Mat Awang, the trooper driver of Malaysia condor that sacrifice his life to ensured the survival of his Malaysian troopers and US personnels in his APC.Malaysia APC stayed for hours to ensured every surviving members of Malaysian and US personnels are brought out either dead or alive for nobody will be left behind.The truth should not be reprossed or erased for the convenient of others.

Must be some kind of intelligence strategy to fuck with American moments like this. The movie also didn't cover the other American regiments that helped as well or the drugs and a lot of other things. It was focused on a specific sequence of events which were VERY accurate according to ALL of the soldiers and people who were there on the ground on those days. It was a great movie and an even more incredible event. God bless USA.
