doesn't tell me anything; so what?? what will man achieve by seeing this? does it bring you closer to God Almighty the Creator ? your Creator?? great! there is a god conscience in all of us because we were created and all of us will face judgment when we die. people need to have a fear of their Creator to draw them to repentance; without acknowledging that their is a Creator, all this knowledge leads you no where.... will it give you forgiveness of sins and a good night of sleep at night?? if you believe in it so much, how long will it take mankind to discover more from this? and in the meantime, will you die and face judgment? missing out on thousands of years later when they 'may' have the next image of a blackhole?? good luck with your findings; i'd rather trust and believe in the Creator and repent and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

@@OzkanArac I agree that this was a global cooperation (though mostly Europeans and Asians) and that taking credit for the accomplishments of other individuals is silly. However, it is healthy to take pride in one's people and their accomplishments, and white people are the only ones in modern society who are not allowed to do so. What this person said isn't "racist" and the act of calling it such is antiwhite. This person probably said what he did because he is frustrated that white people are demonized and hated, unappreciated for the great things they have done for all peoples of the world. It's funny how whites can be collectively demonized for the few wrongdoings they've committed, as well as the accused wrongdoings which they didn't commit, but when any of them follow the same train of logic and take pride in the overwhelming amount of good things they have done (just like every other group does), they are told to act individualistically. Atonement can never be made for a grievance never comitted. Race is also far more than color. If it was simply color, there would be no racial bell curve of intelligence, nor any universal nature of people-groups across varying environments, as crime statistics and other data clearly suggest. -Cheers

bismark5566 you already are a scientist, there is no boundary or limitations to science, it’s accessible to anyone who wants to reach for it. A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing-not even particles and electromagnetic radiation such as light-can escape from inside it.[5] The theory of general relativity predicts that a sufficiently compact mass can deform spacetime to form a black hole.[6][7] The boundary of the region from which no escape is possible is called the event horizon. Although the event horizon has an enormous effect on the fate and circumstances of an object crossing it, no locally detectable features appear to be observed.[8] In many ways a black hole acts like an ideal black body, as it reflects no light

When I was young, Carl Sagan was the hero of my Mother and myself. He had just died, when we saw our first comet on heaven, and I said to my Mother, how sad I had been since he wasn't alive anymore and so could not see and enjoy it, too. And she said very calm: "He sits on the tip of it and enjoys his ride through the infinity!" This was the thought which could send me some comfort and strength when she left me. I was so alone. She was the only one who shared these thoughts and interest with me. But though I was devastated till death, I told myself not to be selfish, and how wonderful it must be for her to see everything in reality about what she only used to read. Every new picture, if the Ultra Deep Field, if the Pillars of Creation, I so could enjoy and think of her ( and I am sure she talks to Mr. Sagan there, too :) ) So maybe you are able to think like she did , and how I think. He does need no wheelchair anymore, and he can breeze and speak free. He goes around and he looks and enjoys all these incredible wonders. And he is not alone. I am sure my late Mama and Mr. Sagan greeted him with enthusiasm :)

This is how astronomers and cosmologists do science: fraud by means of mass-media induced mass-hysteria. It beggars belief. Think about it: according to the astronomers and cosmologists the finite mass of their black hole is concentrated in a 'physical singularity' of zero volume, infinite density, and infinite gravity. But no finite mass has zero volume, infinite density, and infinite gravity, anywhere! Similarly, the astronomers and cosmologists assign to their black hole two different escape speeds (v_esc = 0 metres per second and v_esc = c = 300,000,000 metres per second, and in the same equation) and no capacity for an escape speed (since nothing can even leave), simultaneously, at the same place (at the 'event horizon'). But nothing can have two different escape speeds and no capacity for an escape speed, simultaneously, at the same place! (See [1]). On the mathematical level, the black hole is conjured by violations of geometry. Geometrically speaking, the theory of black holes moves a sphere originally centred at the origin of a coordinate system to some other place in that same coordinate system but leaves its centre behind. By this means the two 'singularities' of the black hole are produced, the centre of the moved sphere, now thought to be an event horizon, and the left behind centre at the origin of coordinates, thought to be the 'physical singularity'. (See [2]). Analytically speaking, the violation of geometry manifests in black hole theory as the requirement that the absolute value of a real number must take on negative values - which is also impossible. (See [3]). So their black hole does not exist; proven with common sense and high-school science. Yet they have managed to image that which does not exist. Of course they did - they have to justify their lucrative jobs and their grants of public money. For a comprehensive coverage of the frauds see [4], [5], and [6]. It boggles my mind that this was the last thing mentioned on the evening news; like it was just another thing that happened, and an ineffectual thing at that. As an admitted layman, it seems to me that this achievement should be shouted about from the rooftops of the world as the undeniable confirmation of much of Relativity Theory; it's not just theory anymore. That confirmation in itself is powerful, but the implications of the information to be gleaned from this achievement appear to me to reach into every aspect of physics, and science as a whole. This is absolutely wonderful.

It is really very greatest moments that we are seeing something predicted around 100 years ago. We are so happy and thankfully for all people work in this EVENT.
