The Gift is very good. I slept on it...but Black is King is EXCELLENT, and it woke me up and made me go back like wait.... how did I miss these great songs? Brown Skin Girl in particular the video makes me appreciate it more. Also, don't jealous me is not, the best song, but I love Yemi Alade's dancing and the personality on-screen

I personally believe that it was a good idea to release this album on Disney's platform as a way to inspire a positive attitude towards the diaspora. Also, given the fact that The Lion King was a Disney movie depicting an African Pantheism, it struck me as a brilliant idea to pour as much africa back into the narrative as humanly possible. I believe Beyonce did that and then some. Next, the way in which she conducted the feature artists was commendable. These artists, as great on their own as they are, got an opportunity to reach demographics unheralded by their own genre of music. The Spotlight in my opinion was shared beautifully. To concluded, I would like to share a channeling experienced. A daydream I had. A Message from Kawku Anansi. The Loa are stirring. Sounds like our children are awakening, soon their eyes will be open. Their curiosity for knowledge of who they really are is growing like hungry bellies do. Awake children and be filled with the knowing of whereabouts you come, for the journey is not for the faint of heart. Awake my children. Break the fast of your slumber, grow full of truth and wisdom.
