Did you try bending the copper strip on the back of the target inward. The would put let pressure of the target being pushed forward. I would bend the strip before sanding away any plastic. I have a Black Knight also and this worked for me.

I go along with this. I've had a BK game for the last 30+ years and I don't remember a drop target EVER failing to drop (when hit hard enough to knock it down I mean). A Williams 80s drop target unit should work perfectly like that unless the metal strip(s) is worn out or screwed up, or the target unit is sticky or dirty or parts are worn out. Sanding the target lip might improve things but it isn't the problem.

4:54 Roger Hodgson?? Bahahaha. Also note ~ are you SURE that it was Ray that made the recommendation & not the other guy behind the camera? No matter. Great video dude! :)

Wow, I knew this game was hard, but come on!

I'm trying this myself on my Black Knight, but I'm still getting bricks on straight fast shots. Medium and light strength shots are fine, as are angled shots. Its just the dead-on ones that keep rejecting. I've filed away the lip a little bit, by little bit, but I'm afraid to file away too much, and its a pain in the a' to keep taking apart the drop target assembly to test. How far did you end up filing down the target lip? Thanks.

Where did you get such a crazy idea? Clearly what you need are some chromoly targets! ;)
