"What's a nice pineapple like you doing in a place like this?" Good question. This camp and bad and wonderful video hit is a cover version of a French song featuring cancan dancers. Go figure.

I'm an American Anglophile! Born and raised in America but ever since I heard the King's College Choir on the radio I became an Anglophile. I loved this song since 1985 but I didn't know it was British. I love it even more now. And how ignorant of me, I didn't know Petula Clark was British until I read her biography online recently. I always liked her, ever since I heard "Downtown" and "My Love", and"It's A Sign Of The Tmes" on the local oldies rock station in 1982. But I had no idea she was British. What rock have I been living under all these years?

This might sound weird, but this song is nostalgic and brings memories from my childhood in early 2000s. They used to play it every night in mini discos where hotel staff brings kids together in stage and dance into this and other songs. That time were the golden days that hold a big part of my heart and it can’t be repeated, replaced and surpassed.

We danced to this in a skit for SPARC at summer camp in 1985. I like it. But I couldn't find it online because I didn't know the real lyrics. I thought it was "I've got two two two...apples and a tree..." (Yes, more mondegreens. I do that a lot because I'm hard of hearing) It took me forever to find the real song. Not just two, two, two years. I'm glad I finally found it!

My great grandfather was 10th Light Horse in the first, my grandfather was 2/3rd Machine Gunner. I heard their stories. I remember them. When I was young, and I mean just a pup, I heard this song on a close to daily basis. I've not heard it in years. It was only today that I heard it ... and finally understood its message. I am proud of those who came before me, and grateful for what they gave me.

To the millennials and Gen Zs this was the 80s, everything was fun, bright, and catchy. Different times. Chill out try to accept there was life before 2000.

I danced to this all the damn time with my little cousin when we were younger, I never stopped singing it, and I got sent home multiple times for singing it when the teachers were mad at me :)

so in class we were reading a book out loud and this song came up so we begged our teacher to play the song and she said she needed to psyche herself up and then she played it and we were begging her to turn it off halfway through and she didn't and said "careful what you wish for" we died the end

I loved that song back in the 80s. I remember doing that dance at discos. That was the thing if you wanted to hit the floor. You HAD to know the dances. It was a strong measure of how cool you were if you could nail them all. Agadoo. The Bus Stop. Nutbush. The list went on.
