Do ya'll go to the Genesis ward? I went when I was young because I have adopted siblings, I wonder if they still do that. I loved it there, I remember the food and people fondly even over a decade later.

I appreciated their comments on the priesthood ban. Whenever I hear people criticize the church for it, I ask them if perhaps it was wisdom in God that given the racial tensions in the world at the time that he saw it best to not cause an upheaval in the church for those that were not prepared to receive black people getting the priesthood. Then, after the tensions had past, in his wisdom, God saw that it was time for all worthy men to have the privilege of the priesthood.

That was a great interview. I’m interested in whether they have had the Black Menaces on the podcast and how they engage groups like them in the church. I look forward to listening them more.

Are we talking about building Zion as a state of mind, or building the city Zion (the New Jerusalem)? Because Jesus made it clear that it would be the remnant of Jacob on this continent who would build the New Jerusalem, and we as Ephraimite Gentiles would be allowed to assist, if we are righteous. "And they shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem." (3 Nephi 21:23) And it is the Native Americans, descended from Lehi, that constitute the remnant of Jacob. (3 Nephi: 21:2)

Obviously a state of mind. The New Jerusalem will never be built by the LDS church.
