Black Light fishing line test

Black light fishing is getting very popular, so I've started testing different equipment to see what glows the best under black lights. We've tested fishing rods, now it's time to test line. I use slime line an big game leader . To me it glows the best and when I do use braid I use the reaction orange does good for a trip or two but the braid does lose its cooler really quick

Trilene xl has a clear/fluorescent that glows blue and bass pro shop has a knock off “excel mono” in clear/blue fluorescent that also glows blue but is half the price, in the day they are both clear but black lights illuminate them blue. Great for panfish rods! I think it only goes up to 30lbs though if you want for catfish rods

We used to fish at night for largemouth bass using 10lb to 14lb Stren clear blue mono and the Bass Pro Shop neon tube type black light. It was like a bright blue laser going out to the water. You could see even the slightest tick on the line with it.

Out of curiosity, is the Stren High Impact line you used the clear type? It has a blue tint to it, but I'm guessing that's because of the blacklight. Thanks!

man the reaction tackle dont glow all that well out on the river and the 65lb braid was snapping before the 40lb leader line I use. I prefer to get my lead back and lose the hook. Not with the reaction tackle, sending it all back. Cannot trust it not to break and I mainly tournament fish for catfish.

Yeah, I was using reaction tackle 80lb braid. Ended up throwing it all in the trash. I switched to the K9 Katline. Way better quality, and it doesn’t smell like fuel!
