Friction can be surprisingly effective. I had a survival class in high school and when we were doing fire drills/friction fire starters I accidentally went through the board and into the plastic flooring, leaving a big smoldering hole in the floor lol.

Probably a stupid question, but aside from knowing it makes a decent baseball bat, I don’t know much about white ash. Is it a special type of ash, or do you just mean standard ashes that are white in color?
