Call me a stoner, but the oil bath is essentially like a water bong. Dirty air goes in, bubbles through the oil, contaminants get stuck in the oil, clean air goes into the motor, vroom vroom! I've seen old farm tractors that use a similar air cleaning method

Great explanation and restoration. On less dusty days, I run without a filter on my Alfa Romeo. The paper cone filter uses about 10% of power at WOT.

We had two different trucks that used the oil bath air cleaners a '50 Ford and a '68 International.

Interesting about the 68, I would have thought everything would have gone paper element by then. I'd be curious if anyone has ever done a dyno test to see how much power you lose with one... @nicksgarage...

The music is mixed way too loud and you use too many verbal pauses. I really wanted to watch this video. But the music was killing me.

Thanks for the feedback. Did you find the music too loud while I was speaking or during my time-lapse scenes? I will try to improve that. As for verbal pauses, I do this totally unscripted, in one take... I do notice them on playback, and working to improve. Thanks for trying to watch 🙂
