In college what I noticed is that women of other races would say hi to you as they walked by, even though they could be phony, but it’s an advantage. That hi opens the door. Most blk women I met on campus would walk right by you and actively try to ignore you. Not all but a lot would do this.

I feel like this video was made just for me because it explains my situation to a T! I’m only 5’9 and about 180. I’ve never had swag, I don’t wear all that name brand bullshit, and I’m kinda nerdy (comics, anime, speak proper english). Most black women want nothing to do with me UNTIL......... they see me with a non black wife. But even when I was younger I was invisible until they saw me with a non black woman. The only black women who ever showed interest were already single mothers.
@RomWills8 жыл бұрын
That's how it goes. All of a sudden they want you. It shouldn't take being with a non-Black woman to validate a Black man.
@CCK19726 жыл бұрын
Generally that's how it goes. But then I think some of us do the same thing. We see Black women with White men and that gets our attention but the same women were invisible when they were single or when they were with Black men. Then we have to ask ourselves exactly why do we want to talk to that woman. Because we didn't before. It's human nature. I think everyone knows who this woman is. There wasn't anything wrong with her and she may have even approached us first but then some other Black woman everyone wants talked to us and we just completely forgot about her. She was boring, externally. And we made the same dumb mistake we always do and now we hate Black women but we wouldn't have that problem if we went the other way. And now you can't talk to that Black woman because her mind is made up against Black men.

While it's true when i was younger I dated more black women, once i was around a more varied situation i widened my selection. The issue, for me, isn't I can't get a black woman. Especially now. Since I've gotten older black women are more attracted to me than when i was younger. My issue is not too many black women are interested in things I'm interested in (nerdy stuff). They're attracted to me but we just don't have anything in common. When I find ones that do i go after them. It's just numbers for me. Lol, and white women and Hispanics got "badonks" too. That happened to me in Curacao with a Hispanic girl at the airport even though I couldn't speak Spanish she tried damm hard to talk to me even gave me her number she was feeling me. I was thinking about making a video about him but listening to you has made me look at the dynamics more logically. To be honest the judging also comes from resentment/jealousy since I know he more than likely had it easy getting attractive women.

My main request for my people as a whole is for Black Men to be heard on this issue. I've never felt heard on the issue by anyone other than like-minded Black Men. My mother hears me but will cut me off because it's too painful for her to hear. There's always a reason why it's not our turn when we're out competing for resources in America. There's always a reason why we're never enough for our Black American Women. I've been outstanding by definition for the entirety of my life, yet I've rarely not been lonely. My circumstances forced me to be open to other cultures of women, including non-American/UK Black Women, and have been received as well as a person could hope to by other cultures. I've prayed for solutions all my life, and refuse to reject happiness when it presents itself. Sistas had the unopposed right of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd refusal. Having been Select at certain points doesn't mean you're treated well within the relationship. Sometimes I/we want the girlfriend/wife I've earned. I get the message at this point....

There are a few things about this video that I found interesting: The parallels a lot with what I heard from one of the guys in Obsidian's videos (can't remember who) but he said that most of the guys he went to college with didn't plan on dating white women. White women were actually plan 'z' on the scale of what they really wanted. Yet, after they started dating other women, black women were visibly annoyed with them. The VanZant topic where she spoke to black men that dated outside their race ALL (100%) had reasons based in the fact that black women didn't want them for one reason or another. Yet, when the show aired, black women were openly angry that the men were not dating black women. You discussed the same dynamic in this video. The women didn't/don't want these men, they were just angry that they were with someone else. IBS IMBOR uploaded a video last night on the female selection criteria and he discussed it the same as you. Basically, if you are not a 8, 9 or 10 then you are effectively invisible to black women. So men that aren't "select" as you put it, are basically living the lives of monks until black women need their services and even then, they don't really get the best that these women have to offer. That reminds me of the depressing video that Obsidian made about Community Eunuchs. Its chilling that so many people are having such consistent experiences when you consider that you span in different ages and geographic locations.
@RomWills8 жыл бұрын
No one wants to talk about the female selection criteria. Even though I apply to the Black community in my videos it is a factors in other communities as well.

BM and IR is seen by many BBBs as rejection and loss of insurance. Women in general cannot handle rejection and most BBBs see most BM as their backup plan. Most BBBs think they reserve the right to reject BM but they can't exist in a world where they are not seen by BM as their only option. The thinking black man has his selection criteria too...and it does not include the BBB.

You nailed it with this Good Brother. love constantly turned down high quality Hard 8-10s throughout my college years because they were not Black girls. After being scalded for a final time in my mid-twenties, I was forced to think back on how effortless the conversations and attractions were with women of other ethnicities. It's a difference that thick white girls may voice about feeling unattractive inside their culture, but treated as the ideal of another culture. Peace is my biggest thing. I couldn't deny the fact that although I often disagreed with female friends of other ethnicities, our exchanges were never argumentative. I haven't argued with a non-Black woman to this day because I usually don't speak about things unless I know I'm correct, and I do so as respectfully as possible with an allowance of descention. I'm to old to ignore life lessons. Plus I see women of other cultures in more places I go. The rare Black woman doesn't look me in the eyes. Yeah... I've had Latina, ethnic White (Jewish, Italian, Russian), Filipina women touch my face/chest/arms... They've offered to cook for me, complimented my voice and intellect, and been very clear about their attraction to me. Women of my culture more or less act like they're doing me a favor.... I'm just saying... It's nice to be appreciated by women who happen to value traditional femininity also.

Hey Rom I am a big fan of your work and I have only been watching your you tube videos for the past month. All the things you said about the struggles of a decent black man is so true because I am going through it myself. All the problems you talk about in the black community is very true because its happening in London and all over the UK. There have always been problems for decent black men in the black community in the UK all my life and I am a 35 year old single black man with no kids or a criminal record as I was born in 1982 so I grew up in the 80s and 90s because myself and other good black men that I know personally have been through it as well because we dont match up to black womens criteria when it comes to love and relationships cos they only want the good bar,bad boys and thugs or any type of non black man and a lot of us good black men decided to date outside our race because they are the only women to accept us for us. At the same time these same black women who rejected us good black men get pissed off and upset that we went and dated outside our race but they didnt want us and didnt give us the time of day so we only went where the love is. The crazy thing is that black women want first right of refusal in that they dont us decent black men for a dating choice because they see us as lame,corney etc. They go out in the world give the best years of their life when they were young and pretty to date the bad boy thug loser,have multiple kids with him,he fucks her over when she hits the wall and gets ugly,fat and old and that is when she wants to marry a nice black man who has his shit together and doest have any kids and when he turns her down that is when the black women cries and says there is no good black men out there. FUCK THAT I will never be a step daddy and some clean up man for some women and her bastard crumb cruncher kids. SHE MADE HER BED AND THE POOR CHOICE IN THE MEN THAT SHE PICKED SO SHE SHOULD LIE IN IT.

I am so glad that black men like yourself are speaking up about the issues that decent black men have gone through during the last 50 years in the western world and giving us a voice because society wasnt listening to the decent black men needs and wants and hating on us because the news and female tv shows like oprah winfrey were bashing good black men for being corney,lame and not living up to the societal expectations of what black women want but at the same time these same black women are dating pookie,ray ray,desmond,shontavius and jamarquavious and making poor choices with them in general BUT tv shows and society mollycoddle these women and telling them its not their fault and they didnt know any better and they deserve a decent man and society treat these women like children because they dont take any responsibility for their fuck ups while a good black man cant afford to make any sort of mistake and we have to be near perfect because the whole world will bash us and will never give us a second chance because the media and society is brainwashed into believing that all black men are the same and it gives us all a bad name. Sad but true.

I kinda agree with this. Most guys I see with white women I wouldn't have given them a second look. They are usually bland and unpersonable if that's even a word. I don't get upset at interracial couples because like you say I wouldn't have dated the guy anyway. I have dated outside my race and the stares can be unnerving. Gotta really like the guy to put up with the hate others give you.

Black women are difficult just like any other women. I think it depends on the environment where one lives, as well as income structure as well as physique. Example, one of my good friends is black, short, stubby, yet very rarely black women were not into him or hesitant to date him. Now he is married to an Asian woman. What rom Wills is saying is truth to a certain degree. Also, guys. One needs to check and see what women you attract. I'm a mixed man, and I rarely attract black African American, and to a certain degree afro Latina. Its possibly because of my build. I'm chubby looking NFL physique type of guy. Black women like full on muscle or slim. Or if she is educated, than its mainly white guys, light skin man with good hair is not enough. I do agree that black women from far north as Canada to far south, to far south as Uruguay prefer physical attraction to a certain compacity. In Guyana my parents country, black women there prefer lighter complexion men, same for the Dominican Republic. Colorism is real form of attraction.

YOU SPOKE TRUTH IN THIS. I see you one of the ones who actually pay attention. I have family members like this they can come off really awkward, and they ALL date interracially. I figured out that was where they would be treated better,because of the women's perception of that particular man. Girlfriend's of mine,would never give them any play,they aren't mean to them ,but they look at them as friends or family it's like their awkwardness deters the black women,but quite the contrary when dealing with non- black women. THESE men want to be looked like Mr Goodbar as you say by these women but they AREN'T. BLACK MEN and BLACK WOMEN ARE NOT listening. Not sure how much we can do about this,but I however do believe it would benefit the collective,if a lot of us change the way we view one another and think about dating and mating.

20 yr old experiencing this currently. I've noticed white women, and women of other ethnicities have taken a liking to me. Black women kinda hate me but idc lol. I think it has something to do with me reminding them of the guy they could've been with?😭 One thing i know for sure though, is that they like to treat you like you're expendable. It's a very strange experience. Most of the black women i've met have either rejected me if i approached, or just used me for something until i caught on, then acted like i was the villain for not wanting to do it anymore. White women will openly flirt with me, and hint towards getting straight to business😂😂😂 i've never once had a bad experience with any woman of a different race or ethnicity. If anything i need to start talking to more of them.

I disagree on this one Rom. As a Black man this video isn’t true in my case. I attract Black women and white women all in the same. My problem is I legit have both insecure with their own skin color. 😂😂😂 By that I mean, I have white women thinking “I wonder if he even likes white girls” and I have black women thinking “He might only date white girls”. I don’t know, I guess I can code switch.

black women are the best and most beautiful. Sisters just because you see me with a white girl don't think that she is my preference, I might not even like her or be banging. Sometimes its just company or friends. I never get serious with them but I'm a man and they are persistant. So Rom as a man who is and has always been select and prefer black women, what do you do when other races of women practically throw themselves at you. I don't approach them don't even flirt and they always asking me out or inviting me over for dinner and drinks. some I blow off but some are fine or are really cool.

Funny i commented & you just lmk in the first 2 minutes of this video ... the world view of black men start with the black women
@danya82928 жыл бұрын
I have to be honest. This topic seems to be a little one-sided. It gives the negatives about Black women. However, just as there's great black men out there. There's equally great black women out there too. If that man chooses to date outside of his race, more power to him. But let the reason be, because that's his preference... not because black women show lack of interest in them.
@RomWills8 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that's the biggest single reason. My Grandmother told me that when I young and I've interviewed brothas on the topic since the late Eighties. In most cases sistas simply didn't want the brothas. The biggest issue in Black relationships now is sistas rejecting the majority of brothas. Cause and effect.
@danya82928 жыл бұрын
Rom Wills It may be one of several reason. I married outside of my race and I've been married for 19 years. I didn't make an excuse, this was my choice. I met someone, dated him for several years. we married and raised a family. However, I could say that I dated outside of my race because most black men were in the streets, or they're arrogant and unapproachable. I could come up with countless excuses. But that would be unfair generalizations. I'm now single and I believe it's about being open to meeting someone compatible and sometimes that just means looking past the exterior. anyhow, have a great day!
@RomWills8 жыл бұрын
Michelle O Well sister that's you and for some brothas. Y'all just met the right person for you who happened to be a another race. For many people it's rejection. Now my questions is do you say the same thing to the Swirlers and BWGTOW sistas?
@danya82928 жыл бұрын
Rom Wills BWGTOW? I'm not familiar with that abbreviation. Moreover, I can't speak for anyone other than myself. I honestly believe when it comes to selecting a potential partner, it various from person to person.

Is it just me or have White women treated me the same as Black women? White women may have been easier to talk to, but they never treated me better. A lot of them had issues with White men. A lot of them thought I was different from the Black men they were used to dealing with. Which, I don't think it was intended to be racist but always felt that way because it's like she's stereotyping Black men. A few even tried to play that whole thing well since I'm talking to them I no longer had to deal with whatever issues I had with Black women. What issues? I don't remember complaining about Black women to White women. I don't even complain about Black women to Black men. On some level I think women deep down want to think that they're a solution to a problem. That is rarely the case. Now that I'm older I realize that none of that was personal but it definitely offended me in my younger years. Now I just chalk it up to insecurities. Because unless you have a lot in common culturally with a White woman what are you really going to talk to her about? Honestly. And if her experience with Black men who just lusted for her she can say whatever he isn't really listening to her anyway. Nothing wrong with that it just wasn't for me. There's a difference when some of us just aren't coming across Black women that we have a lot in common with and end up dating the non Black women that are in our circle and a Black man that could get the Black woman he wants but just doesn't want to deal with her. I remember as a teenager guys that didn't want Black girls to know what they were doing because they felt that would limit their options with Black girls if they knew they were into White girls. Well that's just stupid Why would you want Black women that disapprove of your dating choices? That is part of your identity as a human being. If you did get with those Black women, and you started expressing your appreciation for non Black culture they might not feel you the same way. Those same men weren't unapologetic about who they were as Black men. But that's the ignorance of youth; I doubt any of them are like that now. Plus that was back in the eighties. Honestly it's not the White women. It's the culture. These days people are "woke" so you really question why you want to date outside of your race to begin with. White women that would choose and approach, 20 years ago, probably will not today because of White privilege and the shame that goes along with being a young person today Can you live with yourself as to what you're doing? Everything is overanalyzed. A dark skinned brother can't date a light skinned women or a woman of color that is non Black without considering colorism. Which sucks. Back in the eighties and nineties no one cared about the color of the woman you were with. They may have cared about the race, but the color, IDK. But then it was rare to come across someone that was biracial back then. I think we were making progress back then and we're going backwards in the 21st century. I am glad that dark skinned women are more vocal and aren't just sitting back and taking anything and everything from Black men but at the same time I think a lot of women are triggered easily by situations that really do not have anything to do with them. It isn't always about that. Not everyone has issues and hangups. This whole attitude of not dating dark skinned women is lame. It isn't a topic for conversation to me. You're limiting your options for a negative outcome that is a self fulfilling prophecy and you don't even realize it.
