Iirc he used an HM2 direct into his computer's soundcard. As in no other preamp. Swede death setting but set the volume to taste instead of just diming it.
@idontgivea17693 жыл бұрын
I doubt it... I know he said that in an old interview, but Varg was never a gear head. I’d bet my left pinky that he really did mean a distortion pedal; i don’t see how a fuzz pedal could produce that sound

I really love inlays on you guitar, they make the music more immersive :p. Fuzz seems OK ! the fender alone was a bit "clipped" on tremolo picked part but... yeah ! It sounds ! And hope you will be soon recovered ! 🤘

The sound is very promising and it reminds me of some other black metal bands like Mutiilation - Rattenkönig album but it just lacks the final bite. Maybe together with a guitar ordinary distortion (I mean on separate guitar track) to complement it and add some fizzy bite to the sound it could work really well. Or maybe rhythm guitars doing the fuzz and lead guitar doing the distortion.

Awesome, also have been wondering about this topic lately. Cant seem to figure out how that ''background fuzz/noise'' is achieved(for example Satanic Warmaster - Carelian Satanist Madness). I guess it happens by adding multiple layers on top of each other, but not entirely sure, any tips? Thanks!
@HenritheHorse3 жыл бұрын
Should be just shitty distortion with full treble and have it sit on the background with little reverb.
