There certainly aren't very many. Playing black metal by yourself is not a lot of fun in my opinion. With a band, it's awesome but by yourself it gets boring.

Wonderful representation. I think Dissection in many ways continued a tradition of Nordic folk music. In our traditional music, there is a lot of melancholy and if you go further back there was lots of horror depicted in songs.

Saw Dissection perform in 95/96 in Rotterdam for the Storm of the Lights Bane tour. Was on a school night (lol). I can remember my mom was pissed that I was too late home, but they will never take that epic night away from me. Hail Jon

Love the part where in the original it goes from acoustic sweeping and picking to distorted tremolo picking and Jon screams DIE! You absolutely nailed the feeling of that tremolo part but acoustically. Would be cool to see some Watain or something off of filosofem btw.

Mesmerizing! I just showed a piano version of this song to my grandpa after him being dismissive towards music I like (never hearing it but "knowing" what it's like (garbage) - that's what bothered me, rather than just not liking it (he def wouldn't like the original version 🤣).
