**SPOILER ALERT!** The only Black Mirror episode that made me cry... 3 fucking times! When Kelly proposed, super aww moment. When shit got real and Kelly tells Yorkie of her daughter that died, the heartbreak was so genuine. And when Kelly crashes her Jeep and right before 12:00 Yorkie's there to pick her up! Thank you Black Mirror for not ruining this episode and _finally_ giving us a happy ending. This one and "White Christmas" are my favorites.

Two things that make it kind of creepier as an idea: 1. In the episode when people get tired of it, they start doing harsher things to themselves to feel alive as stated by Kelly talking about the people at the quagmire and how She didn't want to end up as one of them. 2. The technology could possibly be made to make some form of hell instead. Imagine an eternal prison sentence with no chance of "dying". That's just off the top of my head, you can imagine more and different types of mass simulations like this.
@standoughope8 жыл бұрын
If you've seen the episodes "White Christmas" and "White Bear" you can see that Brooker has already played with the idea of a hell via technology. It's super frightening indeed.
@SierraYankee78 жыл бұрын

Sys0p remember that part where the nerdy guy was talking about the game and he said there's different endings depending on if they're in one player or two? I think the people there are looking for their "second player" or partner which makes them extremely depressed when they can't find that. Since Kelly and Yorkie have each other, it's something to live for and enjoy.

Can someone explain this episode for me. So the ladies were dying and they went back in time to different era... what else?
@mxbblife_mu7 жыл бұрын
Nathasha Love In this world if you are dying you can be uploaded to a virtual paradise called San Junipero as a trial run, and when you finally die you can have your consciousness permanently uploaded to the San Junipero server where you can live like heaven in any era you want. Kelly had a long marriage with a kid but never got a chance to explore her Bisexuality. Yorkie was paralyzed at the age of 21 never got a chance to explore her homosexuality. They both meet in San Junipero and have a chance to forever together since Yorkie never got a chance to have a relationship with anyone but Kelly doesn't want to be uploaded after she dies because the San Junipero is not real... They finally decide to be together forever in San Junipero happily ever after, the end.

there one thing scary when Yorkie ask Kelly to "pass over". I feel like she have become an AI or something. and also from order episode - "White Christmas" the one living in the cloud is not who they really are, it is just a copy of there mind. The episode was so perfect before i realise that it's not end yet and the fact from "white christmas" leave me an uncomfort feeling as the whole series.

Seeing as Black Mirror is an anthological series, I highly doubt that we'd see a continuation of San Junipero in the next season (as much as I'd love that..) As for your other concerns- Charlie Brooker himself said in a Reddit AMA, "It was the intention to vary the tone of the season. The ending just came out that way because we loved the characters and wanted to gift them a happy ending."

Gugu, I love you and love watching '"San Junipero", it's probably the best episode in tv history - but it was scary place. In fact it was a very satanistic episode. Praise of all the main sins of Christianity: homosexuality, promiscuity, suicide, and finally the worst: renunciation of God and attempt to build a human paradise without him (like the Tower of Babel story). "San Junipero" is a very, very good temptation.
@kirkmanklub1747 жыл бұрын
I don't agree, I think this might be the darkest episode yet. I mean, the other episodes are just playing with fear, while this episode gave me an existential crisis.
@samanthadavis43333 жыл бұрын
Okay, I realize I’m responding to a comment from 4 years ago, but I’ve seen San Junipero several times now and just recently rewatched it. While the episode does have a lighthearted and uplifting feel to it, there is also an unsettling feeling as well. The whole idea of being uploaded to a digital paradise for eternity is both intriguing and terrifying. I loved the relationship and chemistry between Kelly and Yorkie and part of me was happy to see them end up together. But then I also thought about the fact that Kelly will never see her husband or daughter again since she will permanently exist in a separate universe. If it were me, it would be a difficult decision. San Junipero is certainly a thought provoking episode that raises all types questions about death and the afterlife. And as for the existential crisis, I definitely feel you on that one, Kirkman Klub!

Because it was well-written and had great characters and themes. Black Mirror has a tendency to go so over the top that it doesn’t feel grounded in reality, and is fucked up but doesn’t leave a lasting impact. SJ was a truly compelling drama.

This episode was great but not the best in the series in my opinion. I think because of its melodramatic plot/progressive characters and happy ending it's widely accepted as being the best because it's a wet dream for a lot of the people that watched it. The people who originally didn't think it was mind blowing rewatched with the notion that it's the best episode and eventually believed it themselves. Or maybe they honestly believe it's the best, who really knows?
