It is so humbling to see a Dr rubbing and massaging a patient's foot (whether its medicine or lotion). This would be considered a nurse's job or a nurse's assistant job. So it's very humbling to see this.

My husband has severe ocd. Not the kind that people like to throw around loosely but the real deal. He uses hand sanitizer at least 50 times a day and washes his hands that much if not more. He has a real issue with feet and refuses to touch them. So I make sure that I take care of his feet every day for him. I love him so I can't imagine not doing it. He can't help his mental illness, so I refuse to ever let his feet end up like this poor mans. God bless you doctor for all that you do for your patients!

You are an Amazing Doctor!! And probably one of the most non-judgemental humans I have ever seen. You are quickly becoming a candidate for my list of Top Ten Doctors I would love to have a conversation with about how you were raised and how you became who you are now, who inspired you, where did you get your unbelievable work ethic because you take your time and you leave NOTHING UNDONE!! And that would make me do the Happy Dance if I could still do the Happy Dance!!! I have heard a podiatrist say that soaking feet in the office has become a thing of past but yet I see you do it all the time, and a few others handling it too! That is just one example. I love that you clean toe jam, and I think others are starting to do that as well, especially the ones I watch that I really enjoy and respect and that is a great thing at least I believe for the patient and those who watch dig it a lot as well! You are just so consistent in your work and I know your patients are just so lucky! Ok was gonna write a two liner but I went crazy again!! Take care and stay safe in these trying times Dear Doctor!!

Dr. Jefferson is very informing and I have learned so much from watching his videos. Also, I think a lot of these types of issues happens because the patients are elderly, may have a problems with their lower back and probably doesn't dry their feet off well which is why these problems occurs. Especially with men who seemed to be the ones who experience this occurrence. It's essential to keep your feet well maintained because this may be the end result. If this patient had a small cut or abrasion on or near his feet the bacteria could have entered his body. Which would have been a medical mystery in my opinion. Therefore, it's very important to take great care of your feet. By being properly fitted for your shoes, wear shoes that offers support and comfort, make sure that the soles are not hard bottom, always dry your feet well after your shower/bath to ensure that you won't get a fungus, after the feet are dry use foot powder, wear cotton white socks to bed because this should aid in keeping the feet dry after powdering them and for even more comfort use the gel inserts.
