Amazing layout - now already. As others have said already, this will be very interesting to watch for progress on the Scenery side. Looking very much forward to your next videos - subscribed!

I just subscribed. I model the southern as it is further south.I grew up in New Orleans and watched the southern after school inthe mid 60's to early 70's. I saw brown transfer caboose. But all road caboose I remember were red. But I heard they had brown ones in that time. Yours is the first I've seen. The NO&NE always seemed to have the latest in logos. So maybe those brown caboose were elsewhere until they became red?. Think I'm going to add one to my roster as I have a spare decal set. Thank you for sharing your work. I can't wait to see further updates. PS, my brother taught at VPI in Blacksburg so I was up in your country a bit. Thank you.

"Brosnan brown" cabs started in about 1962 and the red didn't come back until 1968 after Southern Rwy president Brosnan retired. I personally prefer the red as well, but the brown is accurate for this timeframe. My plan is to run '70s ops sessions as well, and those will be led mainly by GP38s with red cabs.

What I love most about this video is the fact that you don't even have all the scenery up but I feel like I'm there. And everything about this layout so far even though it's not finished just screams realism. Well done

Capturing the feel of ordinary Appalachian scenes is what I'm going for, so that means a lot--thank you!
