Theirs even a railroad pass that serves 4 short trains and loops around the mountain! That's just around a 2% grade. Now I40 sees a 6% grade@

Wow!! Thanks for that tidbit of information!!! Kevin’s dad was a big railroad fan. Worked on a train in his younger days and loved a video game where you could drive trains through real places. Pretty cool!

@@TheJoyofTrucking it's the Old Fort Loops. Stopped seeing big trains on May 7/8 2020, and sees 4 short trains Monday through Fridays at 12:30 A.M. 7 or 8 A.M. 11:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. and one at 6:30 P.M.

I ran this road last night, thought it was a inspection station , but then there is the map and the warnings, and it is straight down all the way, I feel like after crossing that state border it was 100 miles of all downhill, which is strange cause I don’t remember going uphill at all.. coming from the I-40 all the way from arizona. Is this world round or flat? Or just uphill one way? I’m in a 2019 KW 680 so the hill was easy for the truck with an automatic and a J brake. Was able to keep it at 45 no problems, didn’t even use the brake. I couldn’t imagine driving this road in a older truck. Maybe keep it at 25!

Good job!! We’ll done!! Kevin drives the same truck and also thought it was a pretty good decent (especially after already driving in AZ and CO mountains). LOL on your geography descriptions. Hope the world is not flat as we don’t want the road to end ;-)))

You didn’t get a ticket for this did you? I just passed it earlier today going about 42 mph. I’m hoping the cameras aren’t so they can take a pic of your license and send a ticket to your employer.

We did not get a ticket!!! 👍👍👍

Making way too many mistakes as a Rookie... 1. Your speeding 2. Your left at the hashmark 3. Your tailgating You need to be more cautious Black mountain isn't that bad compared to the ones out west. This is coming from a very experienced owner operator of 39 yrs.
