Yeh Ive used it heaps to cut out the busy nanny, speed camera ranges, why the Gov wont take it over and open it is just silly.

Nice video! That abandoned highway looks just like an old chipseal road called the mine road in my home province of New Brunswick, Canada. It's funny how similar a place can look, even being so far away. Ironically enough I rode that highway in NB and the surrounding logging roads and trails on the same bike with the same tires this summer lol.

Love it! hell yeah big kid for life! thanks for sharing, looks like a blast just exploring about slow and a $14000 bike why wouldn't we. I'll have to try out those tires, I hope they're not too squirelly on the street. Nice scenes from the drone too :)

Tyres are a must off road, on road they grip very well in the dry but do make some noise. If you ride mainly on the road, go for a more road orientated tyre. I bought this bike to ride in the dirt.

G'day bloke. I like your videos and live in Cairns. Good seeing these roads I've traversed on my Tiger. XCA. I was so close buying the Twin from Cairns Honda but ended up with the Trumpy from Wayne's. I'm happy with my purchase. Buying the Motoz Tractionators this Thursday and then off to the the Top next month. Can't wait! Drop me comment if you want go for a ride one day. Simon.

Hey Simon, congrats on ya new ride. Yeh the Tractionators are the way to go for off road. Yeh up for a ride no probs, whats ya plans this weekend?
@smbutte7 жыл бұрын
G'day mate and thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm super keen for a ride this weekend. Either day works for me so if you want to pick one, we could meet up at a place and time and go from there. I should have the Motoz scrubbed in by then.

Hey Simon, sounds like a plan, I'm out bush for couple days so hook up when I come back.

G'day bloke, well the Tractionators didn't work out as planned so I got the Mitas E07 Dakars instead. Took them over MT Edith into Tinaroo and over to Herberton and along the Irvinebankto Petford mining trail yesterday. They performed exceptional well. I've ridden both these roads on the OEM Bridgestone "Crash Wings" and obviously there is no comparison as you've found out with the Motoz. Just curious about Black Mountain beyond Quaids. I've ridden the trail up to the first hill and turned around back to The Kennedy Highway due to the 90/10 tyres I had. Your video shows some big climbs beyond the small bridges up to Jullaten. Obviously these weren't an issue for. What is your experience in dirt/trail riding? I've come from 30 years of road riding and am only beginning my trail career since buying the Tiger in November. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks mate.

Hey Simon, great to hear, have not done MT Edith yet, where did you go in from? Just got back from a 2 night camp out. Dimbulah - Mount Mulligan way and came back through Mount Carbine - Black Mountain in from Quaid road. BM after Quaid does get bit wild in places but you should be fine with the Mitas on as its nice and dry. I grew up on a farm- dirt roads so always had bikes all my life. We can plan a BM run together if ya want, its not that hard. The Tractionators are more for off road, never worry about sharp rocks etc as they are so tuff with heaps of traction when needed. But yeh they hum on the road some, but last long. There is a AUSSIE AT FB group, join up easy to chat then.

I did that road on my old XT 600 back in about '94 before it got sealed. From Hartleys to that lake. It sure is a shame most people cant go there due to the "wisdom" of some government bureaucrats.Try the CREB track soon in another video.
@WagsOutback7 жыл бұрын
Nice, classic old thumpers they were. Yes you would think the Government would open it up and take the pressure of Kuranda range. Creb and Telegraph is planned for sure.

Yes I've got a DCT and had it since July last year. A great bike. Just clocked up 22,000k. Enjoy riding the bike on the road and gravel. Just starting to get into the off road 4 WD tracks (not mud) and have Mitas E07's on the bike. Drop tyre pressure down to 22psi for that riding.

Which side racks are those? Love that the left side width matched the right unlike most others.
@WagsOutback6 жыл бұрын
Yeh they are great, made in South Africa but you can get them in AUS. Toys2Go Stainless Steel, Powdered Coated, Side Racks. Google them.
@PaulJagger7 жыл бұрын
Nice video thanks for sharing, I guess the tracks would look a whole lot different after the recent cyclone rain. Sounds like the tractionators are a hit off road. What type of paneer racks have you fitted?
@WagsOutback7 жыл бұрын
Riding the tracks after a big rain can be a real problem, flooded or clay slippery. Side stainless steel racks are Toys2Go (South Africa), side bags are Andy Strapz - Australia.

A Ducati on road tyres to do that trip? I'll try it soon as it dries up a bit. An ST4s 2002 on Road Pilot 4's. Who's afraid of a scrape or two. 😎
