The chants are from Buddhist mantras! The boss (Non-White) was a performer who decided to kill people and wear their faces as his own, hence the title, from his line: "The face of the Destined One, it will fit me just as well."

Apparently it goes much deeper than this as well. The musical style of the track mimics stage play music of the time, along with the Buddhist mantra to fully represent Non-White's character. Singing and music during chants and prayer are a bit of a taboo in Buddhist monk doctrine, so it also nicely represents Yellowbrow and his own personal perverted form of Buddhism. God I love meaningful music!

@littlekitsune1 Glad to help shed some light! The percussion beat from this song comes from Beijing opera, which pays homage to the 1964 Chinese animation “Monkey King: Havoc in Heaven”. This is China’s first full-color animated film, and the film score prominently features Beijing Opera percussion beats in the fighting sequences. The musical style has more or less been replicated in film & TV adaptions of “Journey to the West” thereafter. One of the reasons this game is so popular in China is because it pays homage to all the cultural references of Sun Wukong that Chinese people grew up with

7:28 The vocal "Namo Amitābha" ("南無阿彌陀佛", or "नमोऽमिताभा" in Sankrit) is Buddhist Mantra derived from "觀無量壽佛經", a Buddhist classic in 5 century AD China. that chants is 《往生咒》, It was originally a Buddhist mantra used to give the dead person peaceful. In the game it's Boss Non-White‘s BGM. However, the rest of the 55 minority tribes (which include Koreans, Russians, Tibetans and Mongolians) also contribute greatly to the diversity of the Chinese culture (which is more of a huge 'melting pot') and Black Myth Wukong incorporates the best aspects (musically and visually) of the entire '56 tribes' culture.

This is my understanding of the song. It's played at the stage where the boss denounces the teachings of Buddha. Buddhism suggests giving up all desires as they are source of suffering. And so this boss encourages all sorts of earthly joys such as violence, lust, and of course, music. You have music when citing sutra with women whispering at your back like right next to your ears? This is like raising the middle finger to Buddha himself. It's not hard to guess what these men and women are doing under the guidance of this boss. Blasphemy. This song is a perfect reflection of that. Edit: The men start out reading sutra but later all's left is moaning "ah" with percussion beating fast and hard. These men and women are really having a good time lol
