not needed. You learn the movesets. Bosses follow movesets. 3 slashes, then 2, then 3, sometimes delayed hits. You learn and adapt.

He didn't turn invisible. He timed his Thrust attack with the enemy to basically get i-frames and counteract. The game calls it "seeing through the enemy". So when you hear that loud "ting" and the DO turns bright blue like in the video, then you know you did it correctly

As above said and also you'll want to start up a light attack combo or just do 1 single light attack and then hit your heavy attack which will initiate a tactical retreat that also gives Iframes provided you have the perk to see through. Even without see through it's really good to reposition.
