I'm from Myanmar and this music was very popular when I was kid.Sun Wukong original series was quite a hit in Myanmar back then.Like every childern and every parents would love it.

We (SEA countries) only exposed to Chinese media products with a little of dubbing and aired on Government controlled channels. For almost 10 years, these music were the only things we share with friends (in or out of the country). Now listen to that again, it's more than just nostalgia.

Yeh, his staff can appear bigger and bigger as he want. Cause that staff is using for measure the sea level. He met the Sea Dragon king just to find some good stuff and then he met this staff, but its too big for him and he wished that maybe good for him if this staff smaller. As he wish the staff choose him to be master and it turn to smaller staff.

No, that's Hollywood's version of Sun Wukong; Chinese people don't recognize it. You should just watch the TV adaptations of "Journey to the West," whether it's the 1986 version or the 2011 one, both are pretty good.
