Erlang indeed was harder than Wukong (Great sage broken shell). Because Erlang used his full strength to see if you are the reincarnated Wukong, while the broken shell was not even trying hard to kill you, more like it was playing with you. At least that was how I felt when I played the game😂

I don’t play games and it’s my first time to see a KZbinr play video games and my friend recommended you. It’s so fun and I watched all your videos on wukong! At first I just wanted to see the animations but I am slowly realising you may have spent 40+ hours playing and me watching, but it’s also about 4 years of game development, a tale every Chinese know their whole life and a story which lasted 4 centuries plus 2500 years of Buddhism ideas and 5000 years of Chinese history and architecture. You have to fight wukong again for the true ending. The 6th relic (wukongs memories) was not the headband that was a trick that was what the celestials used to cage him. At the beginning of the game it said the 6th relic went missing but really it was with erlang he was keeping it safe for the destined one to come. This was all planned by Wukong and Erlang they are “brothers” best friends respect one another and they planned this to break wukongs chains of the headband and it worked!

Actually this the real ending. Erlang has been guarding the last relic for Wukong. ErLang is the leader of MeiShan(plum blossom mountain) seven saints. Moreover, his subordinates-the Meishan Six Yaoguai-have been helping us throughout the entire storyline. They include the white-robed scholar who helps you obtain the fireproof mantle, the wild boar in yellow who helps you get the wind tamer , the bamboo hat wearer who leads you to the true Maitreya Buddha, the centipede man who guides you to find the Embroidered Needle, and the bull demon who leads you to the final passage to Meishan. With them helps you could fight the boss Yaoguai easily. Among the Meishan Six Yaoguai, the Arms-Extending Monkey, one of the six, also known as the four god money In chaos era, has not yet appeared, and its whereabouts are currently unknown.

Erlang's fight is not a secret ending. It's just a requirement for the true ending. After this, the player should fight wukong's broken shell to get the true ending. There's only bad ending and true ending. This is not one of the endings. This is just a requirement.

Hollow, this is only secret ending but it's not the True Ending. True Ending you need to beat Wukong empty shell again. Since you got Wukong's memory from beating Erlang, the Destined one now is basically Wukong (the destined one is basically Wukong's 6th Relic which is consciousness that was explained by old monkey, but now that he is equipped by Wukong's complete memory, plus his other senses represented by the 5 relics, he is fully reincarnated Wukong, therefore, in the cutscene where the old monkey will put the headband on him instead of accepting and continuing the cycle, he will refuse, therefore ending the cycle. This is Wukong intention all along, he deliberately kill himself in the first fight against Erlang (this is why Erlang said he can't kill Wukong, only Wukong can kill himself, because he has 72x immortality from the Journey to the West, that was why in the tutorial fight he didn't have health bar because he can't be killed). Then after all this, you will unlock the final anime cutscene of chapter 6.

If you Beat Erlang before you beat Wukong you get a better ending where the circlet doesn't get placed on your head. Basically the ending you got everything you did was for nothing cause the old monkey puts the circlet back on your head and you got sealed back in the rock. For real secret ending you have to beat Wukong again now that you got the memories from Erlang. Just letting you know. Much love brother.

Hollow, u should watch the secret ending animation. It basically shows the whole Journey to the West but backwards (I think). U can only get that animation if u beat this whole secret segment first before doing the final boss.

Actually this is not the secret ending. This is a secret boss fight which leads to a good ending where when the old monkey tries to put the headband on the Destined One, but he gets a flashback of all the memories of Wukong that he got from Erlang's third eye. What you did before (yesterday) was the bad ending where the headband is put on the Destined One thus making him another court monkey. In the secret ending it is revealed that Erlang (the first guy you fight at the start of the game) actually conspired with Wukong to kill him, as it's the only way to help him get rid of his enchanted headband. As long as the headband is on his head, he can never truly disobey the heavenly court. Erlang also sealed Wukong's memories in his third eye, so after the secret boss fight those memories are released and given to the Destined One. In the bad ending, the Destined One never reclaims Wukong's memories so he ends up accepting the headband, trapping him again to the will of the court. (Which you did yesterday) In the good ending, just before accepting the headband, you get a closeup of the Destined One's eyes as he started reliving Wukong's journey, played in reverse culminating in his very first battle against the court. In this ending he possibly came to his senses and would not accept the headband. And yeah, the old monkey may be an agent of the court, as he put the protagonist on this journey to reunite Wukong's essence, but without his memories, creating a Wukong that would bend his knees to the court. SO AFTER DOING THIS SECRET BOSS FIGHT, IF YOU WENT TO FIGHT WUKONG (STONE MONKEY), YOU'D HAVE GOT THE GOOD ENDING BUT ALAS, THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE IN THIS JOURNEY ANYMORE. :)

Friend, Thanks for the love. I am sure you will come back to Wukong's world again. In some interviews the producer said that due to the financial issues Game Science is only able to finish the 6 of the 12 planned chapters, which makes what we see today as the Black Myth: Wu Kong. With the sales figure this much I am quite sure they will finish up the other 6 chapters. Still, these 12 chapters are about what happens after the A Journey To the West, they still own us the game about A Journey To the West, which features Tangseng, Wukong, Bajie, Shaseng and the White Dragon Horse.

Erlang was a real freak. Took me half an hour just to beat him. Had to use ring of fire and attack buff potions to deal with him. The most annoying thing about him is his ability to just casually sidestep heavy attacks

You are able to do this ending as soon as you finish off the chapter 5 secret area and did the hunter quest also if you start ng+ you can fully get all abilities of the relics unlocked to get the middle relic this ending in the video is required but once all 6 relics have all 3 abilities you can use Wukong's stance anywhere not just chapter 6 but it will take 3 ng+ to have it fully unlocked

Erlang Shen was also the first Wreaker of The Heaven as he was a demi-god whose mother was the Jade Emperor's sister and she was imprisoned for marrying a mortal man. If you read his history you would know that he did not like The Heaven that much. But he realized the need of a structure that rules so all realm would not turn into chaos. After he found out about Wukong's idea of killing himself to free from the Golden Headband that restricts his freedom, he helped guard Wukong's Mind, or memories in his third eye. Only after you defeat him and prove your worth, he shall release it and you get the full six relics to be able to inherit Wukong's legacy with full freedom.

Yo man there is a true ending, to explain the multiple endings, the bad ending is supposed to be an allegory for The Journey to The West itself, in which if u get the bad ending it means u only played the story and kinda "rushed" (like a boss rush) the game a bit. The True ending is supposed to be if u get all 81 bosses i think, and this is the way because the journey to the west was always about the journey, not the scripture they're getting, so most people said the best way to appreciate the game is too get the true ending, this will piece together what you've seen in all the animations you have watched at the end of each chapter, it will in a sense give the destined one wukongs memories cus thats the last piece of his relics, his memories. But besides that great play ma dude it was fun watching ur playthrough>
