Quick summary of Journey To The West (before the story of Black Myth Wukong) The original Wukong whom you played as in the intro was first born from a special stone, found sanctuary amongst other fellow monkeys and became the monkey king. With this however became fearful of death and thus learn to utilize chi, martial arts, and the 72 transformations from a Taoist monk (the monk also gave him the name Wukong) helping prolonging his life span to immortality and used his knowledge to teach it to his monkey brethren. Later he went to a water palace deep within the sea where a water dragon rests getting a special armor and phoenix cap as well the iconic staff that can manipulate into any size. Eventually the celestial court feared him and decided to grant him the role amongst their ranks such as guarding the divine peach tree (which he ate all of them granting him stacked immortality along with the the pills of immortality) and horse rancher which in reality was used as a way to keep him busy thus Wukong decided to fight against the celestial court with Wukong beating everybody including Erland Shen as shown in the intro only to eventually be sealed by the Buddha itself in a mountain sealed for 500 years. Afterwards he was freed and tasked to be Sanzang’s bodyguard, a monk who was tasked to journey to the west in India to retrieve the scriptures of enlightenment with the the condition that the golden headband on Wukong’s forehead was put upon him by the celestial court to keep him in check. Throughout the chapters he meets a few followers whom helped Sanzang and Wukong’s quest that being the white dragon horse, Zhu Bajie (human turned pig) and Sha Wujing (human turned blue demon)

Also, the character you play as isn’t the reincarnation of the original, you played as a monkey that looks similar to him with the story being about finding the pieces of the 6 relics; which has pieces of Wukong’s spirit in each of them to be put back together

@@NotPolarEXno so I come from Chinese roots and what I remember from journey from the west wukong was very evil and going on mass killing sprees and when he met his master( I read the whole book but it was 10 years ago) he put that headband sort of thing on him so every time wukong did bad things his master would chant something( I don’t remember) the headband would tighten and hurt wukong. So back to the story. Wukong was about to kill erlan and his master sensed it so he chanted the thing so that’s why wukong head hurt in the intro. And the headband was giving to wukong a master but not really master just the leader of the group when they went west to control wukongs behavior or the heavens which made the band tightened it since erlan is from the celestial court but eh who knows those are the 2 reasons I think.

Also the Boss Fights are unique more that other Souls Games. This game is not for the Difficulty, this Game is for the Combat Enjoyers.
