Rat governor is fantastic if you're using the armor set that raises attack once you use spirit skill or vessel. That way even if you miss you'll get an attack boost and if you don't that's double the damage.

You have to have each piece of the armor set upgraded to mythical to get the thunder veins effect that's why it's greyed out. Dunno if you knew or realized that. Great video

I personnaly use the tiger relic soak in my long balm gourd instead of laurel buds, and i find it better cause this soak increase critical chances as well as smash stance with the new Loong Staff from newgame+ , but beside that everything like non-able and needle i use it as well as the gear , and something as well you didn't mentioned,there is a skill in transformation tree who increase thunder damages but it's a skill related to a certain "quest " transformation witch im not gonna say witch one cause it may be spoil for certain personnes but i can say this that is a missable one and past finishing the game you won't get it and have to do newgame+ cause its a quest you follow on every chapter without a specific requirement,your done tho' for good...and it's a unlockable one at mid chap 5 so you get your thunder extra damages pretty late sadly...

Fully upgraded rat governer at face value sucks ass, but the point of him is to buff your thunder damage and help apply it to the enemy so while he does deal I think the worst dmg of all spirits he also applies one of the strongest debuff AND heavily buff you….he shines more with stormflash staff tbh

Rat Governor is actually reallly really good. The problem is that you are looking just at the initial lightning hit. But the enemy gets covered in lightning and if you keep hitting them and have lightning bufs on you, believe me, you will destroy them in one second.

Is rat governor attack enough on its own to proc thunder bane on bosses that aren't immune? I could see using that to get thunderbane proc then use spell binder to increase damage even further straight melting everything

Rat governor is only *THAT* bad in chapter 5 against those rock enemies. But you are right that it's not that great. You can still 1-shot a lot of enemies with it, though.

Yeah not the best chapter to show that spirit off haha but I felt it was only good for apply that “lightning status” effect And early game there’s still a lot of enemies that are resistant to certain status effects so the rat governor can feel super underwhelming sometimes, There is the curios that lets you “bypass enemies four bane resistances” Which might kind of nutty if it works the way I think it does! But I’ve just started NG+ so haven’t tested it out yet so I didn’t make a comment about it. Appreciate you checking out the video legend 💪

lightning increases damage taken to enemies though, so he doesn’t do much damage on his own but when you start hitting the enemy you can see the difference in damage

@@AussiesomeTwo I'll be finishing chapter 6 today. That curios sounds pretty intriguing, ngl. I'm gonna have to Try to get that. *IF* that works like it seems, you could come up with some pretty nutty builds potentially! I do agree that the rat governor can feel bad sometimes. It's always so unfortunate when you use it and then see something like you showed in the video. It's just like, "well, that was a waste."

I thought rat governor would be op for this build because it's more guaranteed that you'll inflict thunderbane on bosses? I've been running this build but in smash stance and my vengeful spirit guy for perfect dodging never actually inflicts the debuff. I read on Reddit that this guy will help a lot with getting bosses actually inflicted with thunder bane but haven't tried it yet.

Your gourd increases damage for a short duration after consumption, how long exactly? Charging an attack takes a long time, you probably get no benefit from this. That staff you use is also not the best option, it's actually the Stormflash Loong Staff (new game plus) if you want a high end build. The head armor also has better options. Also, I always use circle of fire skill with pillar stance, since you can charge your attack inside the circle, it's very very safe to do it and you get a lot of healing.

How did you set to "Mythical" the Loongscale Battlerobe? I only had the "Epic" version of it with +53 defense

When you make it the zodiac realm/area you can talk to the tiger blacksmith guy that’s located there and you can upgrade your armour through him! Hope that helps :)

@@AussiesomeTwo thanks for replying! It's the transformation by the yellow loong. We need to gain 3 focus pointed after transformed to trigger greatly damages. Hope that clears out my request.

@@ltkgaming8547 yes yes I’m on the same page now haha So this transformation is super awkward to use but the way I got it to work is just tap the light attack button when your in the transformation You DO NOT want to follow the light attack with another light attack if that makes sense. So you just tap light attack and just wait a second or 2 and then tap light attack again this way when the enemy attacks you can immediately use your heavy attack which will “see through/parry the enemy” giving you that focus point Takes a while to get the feel of the rhythm but once you’ve got it done it flows really nicely Some bosses are harder then others to pull this off but perseverance pays off! Hope that helps if you have any other questions I’m more then happy to answer them :)
