The saddest part about Black Noir in the Amazon series, is that the beating Soldier Boy gave him did more than leave him mute, it most likely regressed his mental state to that of a childs. The way he spells, is constantly doodling, imaginary friends, and so on are what give me that conclusion.

What I find curious is that Noir in Homelander's first mission came up with the explosion trap, tying the terrorist to an explosive tank knowing that Homelander would cut through him, and to give that specific lie to the press, despite severe brain damage. That, or Edgar already was in his ear by that time, in which case Edgar knew Homelander was a failure already from his first mission.

I don’t wanna spoil, but comic/Diabolical Black Noir doesn’t have the brain damage the show Black Noir has. Assuming you watched the other episodes of Diabolical, you might have noticed Huey looking completely different. That’s because in the comics, he is modeled after Simon Pegg, the actor who would end up playing Huey’s father in the Amazon series. Or his power is super brain damage, lose all normal function, but keep mass murder skill set.

I’m of the opinion that Black Noir’s Power is literally the inability to die. He can be beaten severely, be burned alive, have traumatic brain damage, have many bones shattered, and have Homelander punch a hole in his abdomen, but he can never die. This would explain how he survived a beating from Soldier Boy, or the explosion from the terrorist super with only a burned off face. Perhaps in this season, the replacement Black Noir will meet his predecessor wanting his costume back.

What if in reality The Boys became such a catastrophy because of Black Noir failing as a failsafe? An ultimate failsafe becoming an obsessive maniac who can't even fully recognize himself being torn apart by gunfire or how buggered his body was till portion of his brains was being crushed in front of him, he wasn't able to recognize that he's in critical condition, while this may be case of adrenaline being one hell of a drug, what if Black Noir from comic was a failsafe gone batshit insane and being what pushes events of The Boys into the catastrophy it came to be, an ultimate tragedy from a failed failsafe for an ultimate Supe.

Well , his mind most possibly age regressed due to SB's abuse and the amount of brain damage he endured on his last fight with him. Black Noir is definitely a killing machine , follows orders and can mask pretty easily but I think it's also important to take into account some of his childlike traits like the way his writing/spelling looks like , doodles frequently , the imagery friends ( psychosis was probably involved too ) even "feeding" them real food ect. There are people who age regress to do abuse/disabilities alone. So it wouldn't be much of a surprise since Noir's brain damage is what really setted it to stone, poor dude 😔

@@Silverblade416he doesn’t regenerate as such he has enhanced healing as all supes with physical enhancements do, A train pulling a train with leg braces , star light getting her tracker cut out, maeve before and after she gets depowered says “ah I’ll have to get used to not healing in a day or two” His is on the higher end but is not regeneration or unique to him, like kimiko I’ll explain: regeneration is perfectly replacing damaged cells something the human body doesn’t naturally do (except the liver) average supes that get enhanced physical abilities seem to have perfect healing like spider man given enough time they will make a full recovery without lasting effects as long as they don’t die or have something cut off or completely destroyed will recover better and faster than anyone could there are people in real life who don’t produce scar tissue or therefore scar unless you rip out or burn a large chunk the body can’t replace , fire also interrupts the healing/ distress signal process too but the average enhanced individual cannot grow back limbs or organs Like stormfront becoming a nugget and having scars That Would just kill most people and taken multiple years and operations to get to that point as a scarred nugget even and the skin wasn’t replaced perfectly which brings me to my next point the average person or supe doesn’t regenerate cells they replace them with collagen and an imperfect “patch” cell where possible that lacks complex structures like hair follicles and pores but mostly collagen scar tissue, there are people who don’t produce scar tissue and therefore don’t scar unless the injury is very extreme as I say the average supe that heals fast likely has some variation of that, noir is wayyy more durable than a normal person and mentally unhinged he either disassociates and therefore doesn’t care about pain or just has a high threshold But that’s why when you se his face or hand it’s a mess of “scars” imperfect cells as replacements, likely has some enhanced capacity for this beyond normal too but mostly he’s just past caring from what I can gather so messed up already no face etc, new scars don’t bother him, heals fast enough to just tank it with armour and well enough it doesn’t slow him down too much in the long run

I’d say he’s Deathstroke. That maybe his healing factor is willpower based as well. When he wants to kill you, nothing is going to stop or kill him. But, if he’s scared or lacking confidence, the injuries are permanent.

it seems like they have left and awesome opening for a Black Noir that is a Homelander clone. Supposing the comic book version is a bit hectic for television, with Homelander killing Noir they will "bring him back" as if he was able to be saved from his encounter with Homelander, only its not Noir, its actually the clone, and we find out in the last season lol

Noir has either one of two powers. Either he cant feel pain which would explain a few things Or. He has a healing factor that only kicks in when hes fataly injured. Second is more than likely. I mean how do you explain how hes still alive after getting his head smashed in like that?

Maybe he doesn’t feel pain due to the beating soldier boy gave him back then and it’s apart of the brain damage package That also might be why he can’t talk and sees imaginary animals He also has enhanced senses, enhanced invulnerability, and strength so that’s another power he has and we know his healing factor isn’t like that one guy in the show cutting arms off for money so I agree with your assessment of the healing factor part

Damn. Just realise, they could have played with him being mentally unstable. Like what happened to noir, would fit perfect with the comic version of him and what he did. Yes still very dark and edgy. But adds more reason to why it is. They could still do that if they bring him back. But for me he feels a bit wasted now. Even if he does come back. Still was a let down after all that back story build up. One final note. The comic idea would have ruined his character being more likeable. So it isn’t a bad miss opportunity. Keeps his character human

This is exclusive to the TV show. In the Comics, Black Noir is a clone of Homelander. I thought it was handled well though... This is how you race swap a character, and actually do it properly. They fully rewrote him, with an interesting story.

Well, maybe because the brain (like in real life) regulates some part of the regeneration/healing process. . . He's still scarred under the mask. Maybe he was still able to somehow regenerate, but his brain was still damaged. Even though his brain might've healed, it must've been altered from Soldier Boy's assault.
