This is what puzzled me, MW2022 was the first CoD game that I played ranked on, I had a bit of experience from playing ranked on other games but not CoD. On those other games it pretty much started out like we were playing predominantly bad players until we ranked up a bit then it started getting sweatier as we ranked up further, CoD on the other hand they would pit me and my buddy up against supersweats at bronze. Like it doesn't feel natural to play ranked on CoD because there is clearly a hidden algorithm based around your KD. The fact that me and my buddy had never played ranked in a CoD setting before was never even taken into consideration... It defeats the purpose of ranked play...

From my perspective, my ttk feels so much more balanced on ranked. I played atleast 40 games these past 2 days trying to unlocked ranked. I felt my ttk increase as my W/L ratio got above 1.5 and then sky rocketed above 2.0 maybe I suck, idk but my ttk feels much more normal on ranked. Like I got killed 2-3 shots from a tanto no headshot, I switched over to one and couldn’t do it in 5 shots to the body.

About hidden MMR, most of the time you see it it's due to engagement based matchmaking which technically breaks the competitive aspect of ranked, which is why it remains hidden (not the case for all games, but is the case for 99% of games with hidden MMR)

I am getting very very frustrated at the biggest company in shooters with the most resources and the biggest budget "getting to do it later." I know most of this shit can and will be fixed, but having to wait for the game to be a in a healthy place with the all of the resources that COD does is laughable man. I don't even play it anymore, I just watch videos on it, but the worst part is, it doesn't matter. They can still pay for 20Hz servers, they can harm top tier players and deliver unfinished products time and time again because the customer base will not only come back, but they will feed the engine. They will buy microtransactions and battle passes and deluxe versions. Who cares it isn't good? If you wanted a good game, I argue you shouldn't be playing COD anymore. That's dead. Every other ranked mode with competitive integrity uses placement matches. You start out at Bronze but your skill level reflects a platinum rank, so they only put you up against other “Bronze” players who are also actually platinum. That’s basically different skill brackets in each rank.

Microsoft owning Activision was the worst of the worst that could have happened, and here we stand with an outdated game called Black ops 6, thats the longest Call of duty series ever made, its so long that the aftertaste is like having that toothpaste orangejuice taste. Black ops 1, black ops 2, black ops 3 (golden times), black ops 4 (introduction of black out battle royale,...meh times), cold war (why not call it black ops 5?), and here we are with black ops 6 (after 4, comes 6 of course, they skipped the 5 and called it cold war). They should have buried black ops after 3, some things arent meant to live for ever. You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain...

Ranked and CDL should not have a separate rule set it’s crazy to me that an esport can’t use the whole game. I understand the game mode limitations but all guns attachments perks and 6v6 maps should be what the pros play. Then GAs are ridiculous

4 years yet there are only 12 core maps. 16 was a lie and we knew they would count the strike maps. 4 years of development for a game to launch with 4 tiny faceoff maps, 2 very small core maps and 10 other maps with some of those maps being cut from the Warzonr Avalon map meaning they are using a repetitive aesthetic (just like ALL of the Season 1 core maps).
