*“Now more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth. More connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis, the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one, single tribe.” - King T’Challa* I wish every single world leader and politician throughout the world would watch this movie and listen to this speech. Too many times throughout history have people rallied others on the basis of division through racism, sexism, and religion. The ones who make real and lasting change are the ones who follow the same philosophy T’Challa embraces in the end.

"Wakanda is strong enough to help others and protect ourselves at the same time." Absolutely amazing. Nakia is one of my favorite MCU characters, and I appreciate that the viewpoint she has from the beginning is what T'Challa adopts. Killmonger's soul plane scene and T'Challa's second soul plane scene...those scenes tell you the whole movie.
@The_1and_OnlyUceАй бұрын
Michael B Jordan did a good job portraying the hurt/emotion that gets buried in anger and temper because it made him feel more human and he was a child underneath who deeply missed his father. Notice how when he was buried in the ritual and returned home in the ancestral plain the younger version of himself wasn't seen shedding a tear for his dad but then cuts to his older current version in tears that contrast was subtle but is deep because it shows he never truly dealt with it and because he was so hurt he was hardened and embarked on a mission but when seeing his dad he couldn't help but shed a tear and the true kicker is that both father and son went out the same way impaled through the chest by family the same family who they believe makes them feel isolated and lost. Such good writing for me Kilmonger was the best part of the movie he was so fascinating that ending line of "just bury me in the ocean with my ancestors that jumped from the ships, cuz they knew death was better than bondage" is so quotable and deep he wanted to go out his way on his own terms. Another fascinating thing was how even tho he was angered by wakanda and how their isolationist mentality got his father killed and ignores millions of others that are down on their luck despite all that he still is aware and appreciates the African culture like in the museum when he rebukes the lady who thought one of the pieces was fulah and says its wakandan and that line " how do you think your answers got their hands on these did they ask or did they take like they took everything else" shows how quick he is to defend the African artifacts and his constant references of the oppressed and the oppressors and conquerers and conquered all ties back to slavery and how Africans have a history of being oppressed and being underlooked which makes his character admirable and understandable. Again such good writing in this movie.

Everyone's like Killmonger's right, T'Challa changed his worldview because of him. And while it's true that Killmonger was the driving incident, T'Challa ended up doing what Nakia said at the beginning of the movie. Nakia was the true peaceful visionary of the story.
@adrianomoraes5992Ай бұрын
You can see how difficult is to recast because Chadwick Bose an did such a good job. His T'Chala is humane, fun, relatable but also a very noble fighter and hero. You see he doesn't shy away from a fight but neither is proud or revengeful against Killmonger. Ideally he wanted to rehabilitate and bring him back to the fold. It beats any grim n' gritty antihero kiIIing his enemies for me.

Killmonger was a great antagonist, super relatable and a representation of the old African proverb of "the child who is not embraced by the village, will burn it down to feel its warmth". It's crazy when you realize that the child at the beginning asking his father to tell him the story of Wakanda is not a young T'Challa talking to King T'Chaka but actually a young N'Jadaka talking to his dad Prince N'Jobu, because he had never been to Wakanda.

Definitely one of my favorite movies in all of the MCU. It may still be in my top 3. The tone, the heart, the emotion, just the grand feel of it in total. It just hit on so many levels for me as not only a young Black man, but just as a fan of comics and superheroes period. This also came out around the same time I had just joined the military. So it was a really special time for me that year. Wakanda was absolutely beautiful and I wish we could've explored more of it in this movie. This movie felt very different from what the MCU usually does too. So many movies in the mcu lack this level of depth of heart and emotion in my opinion. Most of them feel more light hearted and silly, and while I enjoy some like that, I don't enjoy all. Sometimes I want my movie to actually be serious. I still had my nitpicks with the film, like the cgi being kinda bad in places, and I thought the action coulda been a tad better, but overall it was an amazing experience. Glad you enjoyed it too. RIP to a legend as well! Chadwick did an AMAZING job, and knowing what he was going through during this movie makes it 10 times better. Oh! And I'm still waiting on my solo player, open world, story driven game for Black Panther. He's way too cool of a character not to have his own game or something by now.

This movie was of course another project unlike anything the MCU has ever made before, but in a major way. It made a billion at the box office, Marvel fans appreciated how amazing it was, it’s even the first MCU movie to be nominated for Best Picture. I do have to say, this movie is pretty great and it holds up very well. Aside from the clunky 3rd act, this was one solo Marvel movie that stood out from the rest. Wakanda forever!

Black Panther also succeed at something Disney has been called out for in failing time and time again as of recent years. It was diversity and inclusion done right, Disney has been called out for ruining it's own reputation with it's woke agenda. But Black Panther stands out, because despite being political and being a very inclusive film Black Panther is widely liked across the fandom. The biggest criticism I see people say is it's a bit overrated, but I rarely see anyone call it bad. Disney has tried to recreate the success of the Black Panther formula for years, and for the most part failed. Even Black Panther 2 didn't do as good as the first one without Chadwick.

If you remember, Steve Rogers dropped Bucky off in Wakanda in an end-credit scene, to be frozen until they could get the Hydra conditioning out of his head. Apparently they have done that now. Andy Serkis (Claue) and Martin Freeman (Ross) were both in The Hobbit: Gollum and Bilbo respectively. Since most of the main cast are black in this film, they called themselves the "Tolkien white boys" on set 🙂 To show how far we still have to go in reaching equality, this film's director, Ryan Coogler, was arrested for "banking while black" in Atlanta, a city that is about half African-american. Marvel has often used Trilith Studios for MCU films. It is in the Atlanta metro. He was pulling out about $10,000 from his own account to pay a supplier who would only take cash. The teller thought it was some kind of scam, called the cops, and he was arrested until he could prove who he was.
