Their respective fighting styles reflect their own individual personalities. T'Challa uses a spear and shield showing balance and conventionality; Whereas Killmonger uses a sword and a spear, illustrating emphasis on pure offense and little regard for protection - highlighting his blind rage and hunger for vengeance.

She had every reason to be frightened. In the scene when Killmonger woke up from his trance after taking the heart shaped herb, Killmonger tells her to burn the garden. She refused, so picked her up by the throat and slammed her against a pillar and forced her to comply. I always thought that gesture showed just how frighteningly cruel and ruthless Killmonger really was- the old woman had just given Killmonger his new powers and was clearly harmless, but Killmonger still had no second thought to crush her like an ant.
@adambump52976 жыл бұрын
0:39 "Yield" And that is the reason T'Challa loses this fight because he shows mercy he doesn't want to kill Erik because he feels for him he knows what it's like to want revenge and hunt for it plus they are cousins while Erik is only out for blood to make things even also "Vengeance has consumed you It's consuming them I am done letting it consume me." that one line from Civil War sums up why he tried to show mercy in a way I think he's trying to make up for his Father's mistake and make Erik see that same light it's also worth noting that T'challa had his world view turned upside down by learning what his Father had done.

Shuri even told him to snap out of it cause she probably saw he wasnt fully there while Killmonger was completelt focused since "he waited his whole life for this". Also he kinda underestimated killmonger too and shouldnt have held back.

killmonger literally did this stuff for a living, his entire life. more than that, he actually seems to enjoy doing it, enjoy killing people. t'challa is no doubt a great fighter and certainly the better man/person, but id bet 9 times out of 10, killmonger would win this fight. with the herb and the black panther suit, well, maybe thats a different story. t'challa almost certainly knows how to utilize the suit better. killmonger wore it for like, what, a few days?
@jellyii88866 жыл бұрын
So, did T'Challa. T'Chaka trained T'Challa and prepared him even before this event. You can imply that he was trained since he was just a boy. Killmonger would still win because of his diverse experience with weapons. But, by 90%? Naw, maybe by 60%. I do agree with that suit thing though, since Killmonger isn't educated as much.

Ro Na White Star is right? He knocks Killmonger to the ground and aims his blade at his head, even says yield, and does nothing as Killmonger gets to his feet. T'Challa could have definitely killed or wounded him at that point. Not only that but right after when he slices his cheek, he could have easily moved the blade down a few inches and gone for his neck. He was trying to subdue Killmonger rather than deal a killing blow. This is further evidenced by his own sister screaming snap out of it at him when all T'Challa is doing is blocking Killmonger's blows rather than attacking. If T'Challa was fighting to kill like Killmonger was the fight would have been over at 0:39.

@@ruthlessog9098 doesnt matter, this is a sacred fight. Mercy is for the weak, especially in such an important fight. We have no use for an indecisive king

@@renlsr9921 hm smdh.. He knows the back story of what happened to him.. His father was killed by his uncle.. So he doesnt wanna make the same mistake if you think mercy is weak.. I bet you that you would beg for mercy once you aren't able to fight anymore.

Am I the only one that cries every time near the end of this scene? The music, the dialogue, T’challa’s struggle; even when the camera pans on everyone’s faces. It’s just so emotional 😭

I love the fact that AYO, even if she had a small part in Civil War, says the "Is there anything that can be done ?" line here. That enlight all the loyalty she has for T'Challa and his family. Remember when she's risking her life to save Shuri in Infinity War ? That character is one of the best.

I remember the audience was shocked during this scene when I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out when I was 10 with my dad and my sisters

T'Challa is Odin's ideal ruler: A man who is always ready for war, yet he never actively seeks it and deeply cares for his people. On the other hand, Killmonger is Hela's ideal ruler: A conqueror who takes and plunders whatever he sees fit and speaks about the glory of his people, but caring nothing about said people.

I love how Okoye does not do the "Wakanda Forever" pose. It really speaks volumes about her disgust and re-inforces the theme of '"Duty vs Personal moral compass". Jeez, Coogler's directing is phenomenal.

The way Shuri cried out “COME ON, BROTHER!!!” 😫😩😭 Man, that hit me deep (especially having sisters myself). It’s like she was holding out hope that T’Challa would be able to fight back, but deep down she knew it was over. Letitia did an outstanding job all throughout the film, but her emotion in that line was top notch.
