This is like the most dead honest review. I just got of it and he’s spot on. I could even tell the audience wasn’t even feeling it. Namor, Angela B, Okoye and M’Baku were the best parts of the movie.

I agree 100% 1. killomonger cameo was needed because it was like he was calling out the nonsense. why are we protecting this girl. 2. I didn't like riri at all. it was just too forced. 3. Angela putting herself in front of riri is so uncharacteristic. she let her kingdom drown behind someone who holds no significance to the wakandans at all. made no sense

Tyrone Magnus keeping it real as a comic book fan. I personally think Wakanda Forever is all over the place too. I felt they simply threw Riri aka Ironheart in. Biggest miss: they could have brought Killmonger back by having his body recovered and resurrected by Namor, since Killmonger's body was dumped in ocean after BP 1.

I went straight to this interview after having just watched the movie. It is interesting to hear a more critical perspective, and I definitely agree that the mentioned character death was a marked weakness of the film. However, in spite of its flaws, I felt so fundamentally fulfilled as I was walking out of the theater. I can't wait to watch it again!

I like how he said okoye 😭 but she kinda under utilized in the final act of the movie, which was fine but she definitely didn’t stand out compare to Shuri, Romanda, and Namor idk why people were pissed about Romanda death it didn’t take anything from ta challa but just added for grief to Shuri as character she’s really similar to ta challa in the comics, and the way she took approach to revenge after her death was really understandable and perfectly parallels with killmonger and Ta challa and gives more reasoning to why killmonger appeared in the ancestral plain both of them basically ate the herb 🌿 without permission and we’re basically outcast and wanted revenge

Namor was great, he was pretty accurate they just didn’t make much of prick as he was in comics which is fine not everything has to be comic accurate they him really aggressive but calm Similar to his comic counter part and his backstory is Similar to the comics and his whole character is about protecting his people which is what they did, and he’s not villain so idk why people thought he was and got mad over it

I remember the use of RiRi back in the day too. Which struck me as strange because of how she acted in the books. She was either a psychopath or on the spectrum. Or both. Neither a good look with that name. Letitia Wright just isn't ready to carry a franchise. At least not under these circumstances. Still think a revived and reformed Killmonger would have worked. Maybe he isn't king but works with the royal family. Maybe Shuri wants to prove herself too but the Queen won't let her. Seeing as how she lost her son and husband so soon. But Killmonger sees the potential in her. I think if they could have gotten Jordan. It would have been enough to put recasting T'Challa on hold till they find the right actor.

How you said Kukulkan like M'Baku at the beginning ... hilarious! It was an okay movie, and a heartbreaking tribute to Chadwick, but in many places it felt like a sketch. Like placeholders where the real scenes are supposed to go in later on. Talokan was disappointing and so was the final showdown. Super messy, no flow, no thrills. Just things happening on screen. On the plus side: excellent performances by most of the cast and especially Letita Wright. She picked up the mantle really well!

Honestly this movie felt like a big cash grab made to profit from Boseman’s death. They emphasized that in the marketing, and the whole plot revolves around that. They knew what they were doing when they wrote this thing. It definitively didn’t feel “honoring”, and it definitively was not “poetic”, like some people claim that particular ending to be. The only rescuable thing was that specific cameo, and let’s be real, we all saw it coming. 5/10 imo. 6 tops.

Yeah sad to say I agree with you here. Chadwick's absence left a massive hole in this film which it just could not recover from. Really wanted to like it but it left me confused. Plot was all over the place. Unnecessary side-characters (what was the CIA guy and his lady-friend doing in this already overlong movie?) and the third act felt weightless and inconsequential. And yeah, that RiRi character can bounce. Agh! Hope others like it.

I just think that the first fight had too many camara cuts and shaky cam and the villains motivation was kind of too cartoony evil and not really justified, it kind of felt like he was evil just for the sake of being evil but overall, they did a good job with what they could after Chadwicks passing. I can see where all the she hulk budget went to cause this film probably had the best vfx out of phase 4. Fights were pretty good and most of the characters were great. 8/10
