The question of big government comes down to your personal values, do you want to be responsible for yourself and your family or are you ok with ever more limited options in life while abdicating most of your responsibility to others? The problem with not taking responsibility is that history teaches us that the people that want government power always leads to tyranny and your options eventually become a small apartment and breadlines.

California receives like 1 billion dollars a day in federal funding alone not to mention all the money given to illegal immigrants and foreign wars that we all pay for while our cost of living skyrockets. We need less federal government and more states rights and acceptance of responsibility for bad economic decisions so individual people can grow not the government

I am for the right. I’m a single, career woman and was born with a disability. I want limited government. I am not for the left. I have never taken any money from the government as of yet. I am able to do great work-I build data models and advanced reports for hospitals-my disability doesn’t prevent me from working hard. I pay for everything I need myself. I save money for a rainy day. But I also have a church family that helps locals as well-I haven’t needed help beyond just encouragement but I know my church actually has people go out to locals such as elderly and run errands and help them when they need it. Now, I’m not against there being a government welfare for people who really have no way of providing for themselves and cannot take care of themselves. But, like most conservatives, I don’t think that most people really fit that description-and honestly I think that a lot of people who truly need help are being deprived of better services because many people abuse the system. But also just in general that government taking control over everything isn’t good for anyone. For example, you might not believe it but my condition as a child was truly really terrible. And one time my parents were both too busy working and so they didn’t pay attention to what the public school was doing. They dropped me off and then didn’t check out where I was placed or what was occurring. And, well, the school actually did something terribly wrong and essentially instead of placing me in the class for kids with special needs they literally just put me in a room with several other random kids also with disabilities and didn’t teach us anything. They gave us lunch but the rest of the time the kids just ran wild and they had one adult there who did nothing. I was a little girl, extremely shy and I was actually very intelligent-I know that sounds egotistical but I actually was tested by doctors and essentially it was proven via testing even when I was very young. Anyways I still remember that time and how I felt. I remember being very scared and confused. I thought that I had done something wrong and was being punished. And this all happened in modern times-I’m not that old, I’m a millennial. It wasn’t until my parents started noticing my behavior changing at home that they looked into it and found out what the school was doing. They threatened to sue the school afterwards but essentially settled out of court. But if it weren’t for my parents-if this world that people are seemingly pushing for really was implemented when I was a child, where the government takes children and the parents have no say-then I know for certain that I would have never been educated. The government would have deemed me as not worth it and just thrown me away. But, again I’ve experienced firsthand that giving all control to people without any personal contact to you or who only are in it for money/power-which that IS politicians and government workers-is a very bad idea. I think people should have a different mindset than what seems to be the prevailing consensus in society today. Which is the idea that we’re all helpless, needing the government to do everything for us. I can’t explain how much I know personally that that is not true.

Government never makes money, they are supposed to help society economically by having policies that nurture and help grow the economy. For over the last 3 years, every federal government policy has hindered economic growth, created high inflation, increased their federal debt ceiling, causing a chain reaction of even more inflation by triggering the Federal Reserve to boost up the prime interest rate. Their attack on energy via oil, has been devestating the U.S. economy. Because everytime they dip into the Oil reserves, to artificially drive down prices, it makes very little difference when compared to the over all price increase for fuel. And each time they must replace the oil reserves at a higher cost, so it creates even more debt. We need a President that understands economics.

The US Constitution is in 2 parts: the Constitution itself is pro-government; the Bill of Rights is anti-government. This is because the authors of the Constitution were the Federalists in favor of a strong central government. However, the anti-Federalists feared a powerful government and refused to adopt the Constitution. As a compromise, the Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution limiting the power of government.

@johnbabylon76265 ай бұрын
@richardmartin9565 Yes, but that doesn’t make it "pro-government." The existence of a Constitution implies limitation on governing power. A constitution describes and defines what the government is and what it is empowered to do. Description and definition by their very nature are limiting forces; they limit through asserting what this thing is without necessarily stating what it is not.

@johnbabylon7626 This is KZbin so I'm limited in how I can make my case. 1. The Preamble to the Constitution 2. The subject speaks its own importance; comprehending in its consequences nothing less than the existence of the UNION,.." 3. The Preamble of the Bill of Rights. "...THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: ..." When all the rhetoric is stripped away and all the talking heads are quiet; when all the platitudes have been spoken and all the gaslighting is done; when talking points have been silenced and all the spin has been stilled, the difference between the Left and the Right is primal and elementary: The Left says: Do as I say or I'll hurt you The Right says: Leave me alone or I'll hurt you. Individual liberty and freedom are the best ways to live your life. There should not be a government that thinks that it can dictate to you how you live your life, but unfortunately, every time we ask the government for anything, that's exactly how they take it. The power belongs to the states and to the people of the states the federal government should never have been given the power that it has this day to the point where we actually care about who gets elected as president the president was always seen by the founders to be a figurehead nothing more because the power belonged to the States because all politics is local when the power is turned back to the States and to the people the people have the ability to change and do whatever they want with their laws in order to have a better life within their state instead of the federal government mandating to States what must be done especially because bureaucrats who are not elected and never retire or get fired or get prosecuted for corruption. Believe themselves to be in Feud with the power to do anything they want to you at any time they wish to do it unless you kneel before them and beg for their forgiveness when it comes right down to it the more government you have the less Freedom you will have the more corruption there will be what's for lead to the suffering of the people which will inevitably lead to the subjugation of their citizens
