@@TXGRunner Here is not black powder hunting because it's not allowed by law. Black powder weapons possession is allowed but as original or replica made/develop before 1885 and must be loaded separately.

It's a shame really, so many deer, so many deer & car accidents, and then hunting is so restrictive. Your country, your rules - I am very pleased to be here. So far, I love it. People are very nice and the place is beautiful.

I love your video's keep them coming. I have always wanted a flinter but just hasn't been in the budget for some time now. I would like a 20 gauge seems like a good all-around gun since I squirrel, rabbit ,and deer hunt. I killed a deer this year with my Lyman great plains 54 cal with a round ball and 80 grains Goex ffg.

@@BlackPowderTV thanks for the well wishes. Just something stickin with me, if the ATF doesnt consider BP, ML’s to be “firearms” how does YT justify ANY prejudice to your channel, as it is educational, and a safety oriented reference for many of us?

@@mrdinme.4768 KZbin considers them firearms. I mainly just have to not show assembly/disassembly, customizing, etc. and I'm good for the most part monetization wise. The prejudice against the AR platform carries over to flintlocks is basically what it amounts to. I have to also choose my words carefully. That said, their rules are pretty well explained for me, I just have to translate them to 1700's tech..... As an example, Duelist can't get his flintlock build videos monetized because of the prejudice against videos that show how to build or customize the AR platform... Hes irritated about that and It's why I've avoided build videos but some are worth getting out there even if we can't get them monetized.

I have just started getting into blackpowder shooting, and specifically flintlocks. I am looking at getting a Kentucky Rifle for my first flintlock (grew up watching Daniel Boone). I have watched almost all your videos on your channel, and I have noticed most of them are on smoothbore rifles. Could you do a video(s) on considerations for rifles compared to smoothbores? I have heard you have to clean them more, load them in a certain way. Please, any help is appreciated for a newcomer to the sport. Thank you again.

Hi some shooters preferred the patch to be damp or soaked with soap-water and others have said it is better not too damp have to squeezed excess soap-water just moist what is your opinion? I kind'd think too wet would cause part of the powder to be wet thus affecting accuracy or reliability? Thanks

You can try lots of things to lube your patches, just stay away from petroleum products as they will leave a lacquer behind. If you use water you have to shoot Immediately or when dry you have no lube. I prefer oils for that reason. 👍🏻
