Since every primarch draws his strength from his soul, one "only" needs to awaken the soul of Sanguinius completely in one of them. It's possible. They're not mindless. The problem is that they see almost everyone as Horus. Fortunately they often see allies as Dorn but unfortunately this mostly is only other loyalist Marines. So, they'd still retain all of Sanguinius's knowledge on handling a ship and I don't think they'd give a damn about navigating it. Chaos probably would just spit them out of the Warp ASAP anyway in desperation.

The fact that EVERY single person that carries the geneseed of Sanguinius is capable of falling, and in turn feel the rage and hatred that Sanguinius, the fairest and brightest of the Primarchs (even if he had a darker side) felt for his closest friend and brother, speaks volumes of just how strong those emotions must have been.

Reading this and re-hearing the music video, now my mind shifts over to Ferrus Manus to what he felt during the Dropsite Massacre when he saw Fulgrim, his closest brother whom the friendship made other primarchs jealous I think, killing loyalists while the other traitor legions caved in. Ferrus was always said to be practical and straight forward, like Dorn but more cold in his methods, so imagine that facade to be broken into a volcanic eruption fueled by hatred and heartbreak when he charged at Fulgrim. It's always kinda cool and terrifying to see primarchs that are always self controlled, Sanguinius in this instance, when they simply let loose their emotions and amplify it to a level of unfiltered bloodlust on their supposed closest brothers.

He was amongst the most human Primarch's and was probably the most in touch with his emotions than any other. But yeah totally agree with you on Ferrus, but I would like to believe that he was more sad than angry actually. That's how I interpreted it but that's IMO and head cannon.

My favorit Blood Angel short story, from "Codex - Angels of Death" (2nd edition codex for both Blood Angels and Dark Angels), has the reaction of a Mordian Iron Guard sergeant witnessing a Blood Angels Captain + Assault Squad doing what they do best. :D I found a link to a forum post where someone posted it. It’s also not just The memories of the great angel that they are reliving. But some relive the memories of legionnaires on the walls of the palace. Lamartes is a good book from the first person POV and multiple times he identifies as a random marine. The way they apparently did it is by kidnapping civilians and/or refugees as well as chapter serfs and drain them wholly of their blood. Once having drained all of the mortal blood they would then bathe in said blood as well as sacrifice a Sanguinary Priest to add to the blood pool. While they genuinely seem to feel bad about it, they decided to be a bunch of snooty assholes and threatened to inform the Inquisition about their mutation and have the entire legacy of Sanguinius exterminated if Dante decides to snitch on them which not even the more psychotic of the successor chapters have done. Another problem is that they don't seem to realize they could gather more blood WITHOUT having to kill people for it. Worse, it seems that the ritualistic mass killing of innocents to sate their Red Thirst may also be slowly turning them to Chaos as the intensity of these rituals have been steadily increasing.

I hate what GW is doing to their old lore. The Lamenters used to have their own version of the rage, wholly unique to them. Their 'black rage' was only triggered if things got desperate and the people they were protecting were still in sight. Every person they wanted to protect became the emperor while every enemy became horus. When they ran out of enemies, they awoke from their rage completely spent and would pass out.

I would beg to differ. I have a "theory" (not enough evidence to count as one, more like headcanon), Alpharius never even existed, he was created by Omegon to avert suspicion from himself.
