A surprising turn that Usmanov didn't manage to defend against the mate earlier.

Shirov was lucky there.. I don't know why Usamov didn't take the Rook with the Knight when it was on the first time because it attacked the Q and had to be taken. Then take the Bishop and not the other way around.I think it was better. Then he got into terrible time trouble. A shame because he played really well. Ah worked it out now. If he took the Rook on the first occassion Shirov could have played Bishop X f2 check forcing the King to take and Shirov would have won his pawn back. Maybe that's why these guys are masters and not me.
