[Verse 2] Big black shape with eyes of fire Telling people their desire Satan's sitting there, he's smiling Watches those flames get higher and higher Oh, God, please, help me! Oh, no! [Verse 3] Child cries out for its mother Mother's screaming in the fire Satan points at me again Opens the door to push me in Oh no! Oh, God! [Outro] Is it the end, my friend? My God the single we're all familiar with in of itself was ground breaking enough but that third verse, 'Mommy is burning the fire' considering this was 1970 and no other band, I mean No Other band had even thought of doing a dark song let alone adopting it as their motif, if you would have been in the audience that night you would have pissed your bell bottoms.

Coven, was bruefly on the same Label as Black Sabbath. Techmically they were the first to have such lyrics and dark symbolism and They did actual dark witchcraft as well. Jinx Dawson (the female singer) is a Left Hand Path Practicioner. Though. The band is not at all Metal. They are psychedelic and not even heavy. Picture An Evil Version of Jefferson Airplane.

Mannn I’ve been trying to find a live performance of them playing the song Black Sabbath live. This could be the audio associated with that live performance. It was in black and white and it was very early in in their career. When the guitar drops with all that heavy metal distortion it’s crazy. But the thing that stood out the most is when the song calms down and Ozzie starts singing his verse, the camera pans over to peoples faces in the crowd. And it’s not a far away pan either, this camera man is zoomed in right up to these people’s faces and the looks on their face... oh man. They looked scared, in shock, and like wtf is this. It was such a raw moment Anyways this is a live performance of this song I saw a while ago back in like 2012-2013? It’s nowhere to be found at all anymore. I’ve searched over the years here and there for it but I think they took it down because of how zoomed in they were on the crowd’s faces.
