Ronnie James Dio once said something to the effect of 'most good guitarists, if they're lucky, will write 2 or 3 great riffs in their life, Tony Iommi writes 2 or 3 great riffs every day'

Not sure how familiar y'all are with Dehumanizer, but one very underrated song off that album is the song "Too Late". Starts out pretty slow, but man does that get heavy, and then Tony's solo in that song is ridiculous. Vocally, I feel like it's up there with some of Dio's best work, and as always the songwriting is deep, dark, and thought provoking. Any Sabbath fan who is not familiar with Dehumanizer is seriously missing out.

I agree and this is something that has been talked about A LOT over the years but many fans. Dio was awesome but honestly his lyrics never did anything for me like Geezer Butler's lyrics. I dig Rainbow, Sabbath and Dio's solo material and I find his lyrics to be a tad bit nonsensical but in a VERY grand way. No dig at Dio either. I love Ronnie James \m/

Hey guys, long time watcher, first time commenter . Love the free thinking headspace with all the music, huge fan of music and feel I’m very diverse in it. That being said, metal is my true love and when I came upon your channel it was from that. Imagine, a couple hip hop guys reacting to metal? Who does that? You do, and I have loved watching you grow! Now that that’s out off the way, I recently watched an interview with Tony Iommi. He said it was challenging at first with Ronny because he sang on the “chords” and Ozzy sang on the “riffs”. If you listen you can pick it out on most songs, although he did learn how to sing on the riffs with some coaching. It’s pretty interesting, listen for it next time you hear each sing in Sabbath.

Legend is that Tony Iommi and Ronnie James Dio wrote this song together during his job interview as Ozzy's replacement. Also, this song shows how good his voice was. Maybe you should also do a Ronnie James Dio trifecta. Dio by himself (Holy Diver), Dio with Black Sabbath (Mob Rules), and Dio with Rainbow (Man on the Silver Mountain).
