Whole Tony Martin era IS so underrated. It IS sad fact. Because He was the best option for band after dio 's end. Very talented Singer with beautiful voice.

No rock radio stations ever give that any attention plus it's hard to get the music

Biggest problem was I don’t think IRS did a good job of marketing any of the albums from that era. Lots of record stores weren’t carrying these albums unfortunately.

Cross Purposes Live is a killer concert. Used to play this vhs tape a lot back in the day. A good mix of the Martin/Dio/Ozzy eras material, but probably should've had more Martin songs..
@Papus20076 жыл бұрын

Tony Martin era is my favourite era together with Ozzy. I love Dio too one of my favourites and I still can't stand a world without him, but Tony Martin brought so much to the band. He is very underrated incredibly underrated. He got a raw deal from Sabbath and hasn''t had enough of a career post the firing of him which was a very poor decision!

I saw him live in Brasília - capital of Brazil - in 2009 or 2010 can't remember exactly, he is bald now xD but he did not play ANY song from cross purposes nor forbidden... btw saw Dio with heaven & hell too, and ozzy osbourne with sabbath 2 times and 2 more in his solo band yeah i feel glad for my life! :D

It's impossible not headbanging when you hear Tony Iommi riffs, they are great. Underrated album the same as Tony Martin even though he can't reach high notes singing in live but he is still one of my favorites. lml

I love this song. Every time Black Sabbath changes singers, the style totally changes, so I can understand why some people like one version but not others. I love the Tony Martin Black Sabbath, though. It's my second favorite after Ozzy. I still love Dio too, but mostly in context of his whole career, rather than just Black Sabbath.

I think is the best Sabbath with Tony Martin. I enjoy albuns like Headless Cross and TYR, but Cross Purposes for me sounds like a classic Black Sabbath with Ozzy, but with Martin singing. We got here the powerful riffs of Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler. Sabbath is not the same thing without Geezer.

very good explanation i didn't think of that, probably correct. but in scouring the internet for an answer to this, i have seen 2 other places/pages/sites list Cyndi as composer unrelated to media player. does it say this in iTUNES as well? i dont really care but it is just hard to picture all them in the studio together. i especially love the chorus.

I like Tony Martin A LOT in studio, in every album he made with Iommi... but lieve, man, he seems to do no effort to replicate the notes he sang in the record... no closely! isaw him live in Argentina, monster of Rock 1994, and he sounded really bad... I still love his work anyway....
@Grandmastergav865 жыл бұрын
From what I've heard, his throat "went" around 91 hence what you described.
@JohnnyangelNIU2 жыл бұрын
Mario - Much of the cross purposes tour in early 94, Tony Martin was on again off-again sick for most of that tour. So vocally, these performances would not showcase him at his best. A much better representation of Tony would be the headless in Russia DVD from 1989, he was much better vocally obviously. Of course, that was five years earlier, but on all the tours, Geoff Nicholls also helped with backing vocals and many of the ‘high’ parts.

O Tony Martin cantando em estúdio é maravilhoso, mas quando o faz ao vivo parece não fazer esforço nenhum pra alcançar as notas altas das músicas :/
@paulom.511 Жыл бұрын

Ozzy is so overrated... Tony Martin wastes him vocally, but too bad the albums he sang on went almost unnoticed. It's a case where the legend over-shadows reality.

WHO was it that said Tony had little stage presence? ARE they f..king serious? He's an excellent singer, Lyricist and great front man. Let's be honest Ozzy was a shit front man 'leapfrog" wtf is that? it looks ridiculous!
