To everyone who keeps posting these live Sabbath concerts: keep 'en coming. True Sabbath heads can NEVER get enough. I was fortunate enough to see BS on their "Never Say Die" tour (Oakland, CA, USA December 2, 1978. I listen to the recording of the concert often.

This is truly THE BEST live recording of a Sabbath show on the internet. Ozzy's best live singing performance. You can finally hear both Bill and Geezer, and Tony's super atomic military grade tone. Plus Jezz Woodruffs backing keys are cool. And what a setlist! Friggin Spiral Architect, Sabbra Cadabra and Megalomania for crissakes!! All the solos and jams. This is the "live album that never was" that every Sabbath fan should hear. Sabotage U.S. tour. Great to sit back with a fat indica j, a whisky sour and headphones. To be played on "11" ,,\/, ,\/,,

Let me say, I have been a longtime causal listener to Sabbath and all these great bands. I’m just now getting into these audience recordings and bootlegs, and I’m totally blown away. One thing that helps me love these recordings is the fact that my other favorite genre is pre-war country blues. I have a lot of training at listening THROUGH and PAST the recording medium to hear the performances. Listening to (and enjoying!) Charlie Patton and Blind Lemon Jefferson on scratched to shit 78 RPM records lets one really appreciate how amazing this document is. It really sounds great, and especially if you crank it. 🤘

This was my first time seeing Sabbath. I was a 16 year old at the time and partied up a storm. Kiss as the opener completely blew us away. We had never heard of them before and when they flashed the lights to show them in full makeup we laughed our asses off. Needless to say that didn't last long as they put on one hell of a show. Sabbath was awesome. Get to see them one more time in Vegas on The End Tour.

+Mel Man This is an amazing recording of this show! Did you also record the KISS show from this night? These audience recordings are pretty interesting because you could occasionally hear people talking. On the KISS show from this night, at the end of the song "Black Diamond" you could hear someone say "you got one last toke off of it". The concerts of yesterday... Now you can't even smoke a cigarette.
@ProgBartleby8 жыл бұрын
Deucealive75 Yes I did record the KISS opener. They put on a great show...and since I had seen Sabbath multiple times prior KISS was more entertaining to me being the first time...as they were hungry up and comers at the time. I had the mic right under my chin most of the time...and I did not want my brothers or friends to feel constrainted to express themselves...so you will hear voices...and sometimes even mine.

@joeylummox7330 Жыл бұрын
@Darren Holmes by then the music industry had changed greatly leading to the garbage one we have today where virtually nothing is merit based and a band like Black Sabbath were they brand new could never make it nearly as far anymore. They sold a lot of records with Dio, the reason the Tony Mertin era didn't sell as much as Ozzy's was a changing Musial landscape and an inept music recording industrial complex. I'll say it again. If it's got Iommi it's Sabbath.

Wow, I never realized how much Black Sabbath influenced early 90's grunge and stoner rock until I heard this bootleg. I knew Sabbath was an influence on Nirvana, Kurt Cobain mentioned the band in interviews. But the influence was acute, I can hear Toni Iommi's guitar style in bands like Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, and Nirvana. Toni Iommi is not only a badass guitarist he is classy. I've never heard him gloating clearly influencing an entire rock genre unlike Pete Townshend who is never at a loss for words and has always been outspoken regarding The Who's influence on 70's punk.
