One of my favorite Sabbath albums! When it first came out I remember reading about it and the story was that they had some material ready and no singer, they were in a pub and had a few drinks with Ian , and in their words "the chemistry was just there", so they recorded this album in just a couple of days! Very rushed, very raw, very Sabbath! Underrated as hell!!🤘🎸🤘

There are a lot of haters of this album, but I LOVE IT! Disturbing The Priest, Zero The Hero, Hot Line and Trashed are all bangers. Ian Gillan is in top form on this album. The only issue I have is the muddy mix. After years of hearing it, I got used to it. I don't know if it would have the same uniqueness if it were to be remixed. It's unfortunate that they only made 1 album with this lineup. Ian Gillan left after the tour to be part of the reformation of Deep Purple, so that was a plus. I don't really care for anything else Black Sabbath did after this album, except for Dehumanizer, where they reunited with Ronnie James Dio. Born Again isn't for everyone, but it is for me. Also, the track Stonehenge is more of an intro to Disturbing The Priest, which is one of the most evil sounding songs they ever made.

I remember buying this on vinyl when it came out, and my wife would make me hide the album cover when we listened to it, because it freaked her out! (LOL) I really liked this album, even though it was sort of an odd-man-out for Sabbath. Glad to see you checking it out

I also really enjoyed the show from this tour. I saw them in Worcester MA. Motley Crue warmed up. Gillan sounded great. Bev Bevan was better than I expected on drums.

I remember the day this was released and I was scared of what I might hear. So I bought it sight, unsound of mind. or ears. I loved it even though the production was so muddy and not mixed very well. It was heavy and Ian Gillan blew his voice out making this album, and we thank him. It really does need a remix, I'd like to hear it cleaned up a lil. But still a better-than-expected Black Sabbath album. It's aged well.

Those were the days, right? Unless it was on the radio, or you had a buddy with the album, you didn't know what you were getting until that needle dropped!

Stonehenge is similar to E5150. It is an intro to Disturbing The Priest, like E5150 is an intro to The Mob Rules.

Stonehenge was just an intro to Disturbing the Priest, they should have been done together.. It is the same for The Dark and Zero the Hero.. friendly advice..

There are some turkeys on Born Again, but overall it's a pretty worthy record. Disturbing the Priest, Zero the Hero and the title track are all genuine classics. Stonehenge is just a mood piece/intro for the title track, so you need to hear both together really.🙃

Also when it comes to life after Ozzy/Dio, there was plenty in the form of the Tony Martin Era. I do not exagerate when I say that Headless Cross (1989) is one of Sabbath's best albums, period.

Stonehenge is an intro of Disturbing the Priest and doesn’t mean anything on its own.

I was horrified by this when it was released.....I was really disappointed to say the least. If ever there was an album full of turkey's, this is it. I've given it 40 years to grow on me......Still waiting.

Then you should do the Tony Martin era of Sabbath . Some great albums there, especially Headless Cross and Tyr

The most of the album sounds like Sabbath. Dark and heavy . Ian Gillan sounds different here and provides one of his best vocals . Love that album. Next song Disturbing the Priest. is 100% Sabbath. I think that years later they realized that they have made a damn good album! The live performances are great too! Gillan is singing songs both from the Ozzy and Dio eras and he is doing them great , very original. Stonehenge is the intro to Disturbing the Priest.

Thanks for the excellent reaction. Nothing wrong with the album, I remember buying it when it came out, it was an awful mix, and there are far worse Sabbath albums than this. For me, I was a fan of the Ian Gillan Band, and it was difficult listening to Ian Gillan's distinctive voice in Sabbath when I would rather have him carry on with his own band.

A lot of people will say Dio was their 'best' vocalist,(he was.) But I don't listen or own any Sabbath without Ozzy.My personal opinion and this stuff isn't my thing!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I'll always prefer Born Again to any album with Ozzy (never could stand his voice). It's just that the mix on this album is awful, and the remaster hasn't helped matters, but Tony Iommi has promised a remix in the near future so fingers crossed!🤞
